3,662 sq.km
• The towns of Ilocos Norte include
Adams, Bacarra, Badoc, Bangui,
Banna, Burgos, Caraasi, Currimao,
Dingras, Dumalneg, Marcos, Nueva
Era, Pagudpud, Paoay, Pasuquin,
Piddig, Pinili, San Nicolas, Sarrat,

well known for its

ornamental
construction.
Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

• It was built in 1892 as an
instrument to send signals to the
ships passing by the China Sea.
• It is considered as the highest
lighthouse in the Philippines.
La Paz Sand Dunes
Brgy. La Paz,

La Paz Sand Dunes is a
unique attraction for being
a sandy coastal desert.This
is locally called Bantay
Bimmaboy in which they
perceive that the dunes
resemble the shape of pigs.
Bangui Wind Farm
The first power generating
windmill farm in Southeast
Asia.
15 wind turbines

This white sand beach is
now being developed as a
tourist site due to its fine
white sand and clear blue
seas.
Malacanang of the
North

This structure was built
by Philippine Tourism
Authority in 1977 for
former President
Ferdinand E Marcos’s
60th birthday that later
on became the official
residence of the
Marcoses.

Poblacion, Paoay
• Also known as St. Agustine
Church is famous for its distinct
architecture highlighted by
enormous defenses on the sides
and back of the building. Its
construction started in 1704 and
was finally completed in 1894. A
total of 190 years.

This scenic bridge,
ideally situated
between mountains
and the sea,
connects the
provinces of Ilocos
Norte and Cagayan.

comprising its 32
municipalities and 2 cities.

Sinanglao which is a
favorite breakfast food for
the Ilocanos that is made
up of cow’s internal
organs.
• Climate: the climate is
generally dry, especially
from October to May.

Kamestizoan, Vigan
These houses brag
antique piece rooftops,
huge hardwood terrazzo,
and railings and azote in

Spanish-Mexican-Chines
e architectural styles.
Apato Beach
San Esteban
This was the site of
submarine emerging during
the latter part of the World
War II to unload arms and
supplies for the United
States Army Forces in the
Philippines. It was named
after a mangrove plant that
used to be abundant in the
area.
Archbishop’s Palace

The place was completed in
1793 after 7 years of
construction, sliding Capiz
windows and cutout
decorations with floral motifs
are the palace features.
Bantay Church
Bantay
The church was built in 1590
and was reconstructed in 1950.
It is famous for its earthquake
baroque and neo-Gothic
architecture. The bell tower
served as a lookout for
enemies.

It has a mini zoo with
animals from other
countries.

Candon Beach
Candon
Candon beach, one of
the widest in the
province, offers gray
sand and clear waters.
Some small resorts have
been built to accomodate
visitors.
Santiago Cove
Brgy. Sabangan,
Santiago
This isolated cove was used
by the guerillas as a resupply
point during World War II.
The place boasts a fishing
village, a watchtower, and a
stretch of golden sand beach
with amenities for picknicking
and water sports.
Tagudin Sundial
Tagudin
Standing in front of
the municipal hall,
this structure was
built in 1848 as a
resupply point by the
Spanish colonizers.
St. Paul’s Metropolitan
Cathedral
Vigan
Known for its distinctive
baroque architecture,
this church was built by
the Augustinians during
the period from 1790 to
1800. It has three-aisled
altar and a choir lift.

barangays comprising its

battle that enabled the

US Army Base at Poro

Stretching from Bacuit to
Padalagan Sur, this fine
grayish sand beach is
lined with tourist
establishments providing
accomodation and
amenities to visitors. Its a
calm, crystal-clear waters
ideal for water sports.
Blanket Weaving

Rayon, cotton and
polyster lined with
tinagudan, a local
yarn, to weave the
beautiful blankets
produced in the
province.
Luna Watchtower

It is built during
pre-Spanish times,
Luna shore was
used as a look out
for impending
attacks by pirates.

This building is an old
presidencia which now
houses artifacts,
religious icons, and
other historical pieces
of cultural importance
to the Ilocos.

Clay products are
produced utilizing
the age-old
procedures in
pottery making.

This celebration features
water sports, a mountain
bike race, cultural
presentations and a trade
fair capped with a fluvial
parade and reenactment
of the resurrection rites
on Eastern Sunday.

boasts several tourist

ideal for surfing,
especially during
November to
February.

means “place for salt”

producer of salt in the

• Dagupan Bangus: they are hybrid type. They are bred at saltwater
by the Lingayen Gulf.
• Bagoong Isda: fist paste made up of fermented fish.

goat intestines.
• Bagisen: is the Pangasinan equivalent of dinuguan.

islands totaling 124 at low
tide and 123 at high tide.

The spring can be
reached via a
7-kilometer uphill
climb and is ideal for
trekking.
Umbrella Rocks

These are mushroom
shaped stone boulders
at the mouth of the
Balincaguing River.
Nuestra Senora de
Manaoag Shrine
Site of the
miraculous shrine of
“Apo Baket”,
processions are held
here at dawn every
first Saturday of the
month.

  • 18. Malacanang of the North Paoay This structure was built by Philippine Tourism Authority in 1977 for former President Ferdinand E Marcos’s 60th birthday that later on became the official residence of the Marcoses.
  • 19. Paoay Church Poblacion, Paoay • Also known as St. Agustine Church is famous for its distinct architecture highlighted by enormous defenses on the sides and back of the building. Its construction started in 1704 and was finally completed in 1894. A total of 190 years.

  • 27. Ancestral Houses Kamestizoan, Vigan These houses brag antique piece rooftops, huge hardwood terrazzo, and railings and azote in various Spanish-Mexican-Chines e architectural styles.
  • 28. Apato Beach San Esteban This was the site of submarine emerging during the latter part of the World War II to unload arms and supplies for the United States Army Forces in the Philippines. It was named after a mangrove plant that used to be abundant in the area.
  • 29. Archbishop’s Palace Vigan The place was completed in 1793 after 7 years of construction, sliding Capiz windows and cutout decorations with floral motifs are the palace features.

  • 32. Candon Beach Candon Candon beach, one of the widest in the province, offers gray sand and clear waters. Some small resorts have been built to accomodate visitors.
  • 33. Santiago Cove Brgy. Sabangan, Santiago This isolated cove was used by the guerillas as a resupply point during World War II. The place boasts a fishing village, a watchtower, and a stretch of golden sand beach with amenities for picknicking and water sports.
  • 34. Tagudin Sundial Tagudin Standing in front of the municipal hall, this structure was built in 1848 as a resupply point by the Spanish colonizers.
  • 35. St. Paul’s Metropolitan Cathedral Vigan Known for its distinctive baroque architecture, this church was built by the Augustinians during the period from 1790 to 1800. It has three-aisled altar and a choir lift.

  • 45. Bauang Beach Bauang Stretching from Bacuit to Padalagan Sur, this fine grayish sand beach is lined with tourist establishments providing accomodation and amenities to visitors. Its a calm, crystal-clear waters ideal for water sports.

  • 55. PANGASINAN • The name Pangasinan means “place for salt” or “place for salt making”. • The province is a major producer of salt in the Philippines.
  • 57. PANGASINAN Gastronomy: • Dagupan Bangus: they are hybrid type. They are bred at saltwater by the Lingayen Gulf. • Bagoong Isda: fist paste made up of fermented fish. • Kaleskes: is the Pangasinan equivalent of papaitan made up of goat intestines. • Bagisen: is the Pangasinan equivalent of dinuguan.

  • 61. Hundred Islands National Park Lucap Alaminos This major tourist destination is composed of a cluster of islands of varying sizes, some with small white beaches. The place is ideal for swimming boating and smoking. The islands totaling 124 at low tide and 123 at high tide.
  • 62. Manleluag Hot Spring Malabobo, Mangatarem The spring can be reached via a 7-kilometer uphill climb and is ideal for trekking.
