community members should be made aware of
the negative effects that bullying can have on
victims and the school in general and should
work towards ensuring students can learn in an
environment without fear.

one or more students of a written, verbal or
electronic expression, or physical act or gesture
directed at another student. It includes creating a
hostile environment at school for the other student;
infringing on the rights of another student at school.

11. Disciplinary Measures.
Whether students resist or refuse to respond to
intervention or preventive strategies to address
bullying, the school will resort to stringent
actions to deal with persistent and violent
bullying. Disciplinary actions may or may not be
resorted to/by the school depending on the
circumstances of each case with due
consideration to the age of the students or
students involved.

15. The following examples illustrate the types of behaviour,
displayed through social media
communications, which the school considers
to be forms of cyber bullying:
maliciously spreading rumours, lies or
gossip
intimidating or aggressive behaviour
offensive or threatening comments or

posting comments/photos etc. deliberately
mocking an individual with the intent to
harass or humiliate them

17. Cyber bullying may also take place via other
means of electronic communication such
as email, text or instant messaging.
7.4 Any student or any school personnel who
is experiencing cyber bullying by another
student or any school personnel, will have
the full support of the school. The Cyber-
bullying Policy outlines the procedure to
be followed, if a student feels they are
being bullied, harassed, or victimized.
