2. How Did my Idea Start?
• My Idea started when, during the period of the
course where we had to come up with ideas I
was thinking about possibly doing one on visual
effects but I didn’t relay know what direction
to take it on then I remembered that my Dad
new and had the E-Mail address of Visual
Effects artist based in California and I realised
that that was a great opportunity to gain access
to the industry an be able to do an in depth
documentary on Visual Effects.
3. What Factors Changed my idea?
• The factors that change my idea where
listening to other peoples ideas through their
pitches, as they were taking their ideas specific
and interesting places, an I felt that my main
idea lacked that so I changed it from just “The
VFX Industry to “How VFX have affected the
film industry and the audience”.
4. How Was My Idea Developed?
• My idea was developed through discussing it
with my family and friends, dwelling on it
myself and thinking about what and who is
going to be in this documentary, what direction
am I going to take it on and the angle of the
documentary. And also the previously said
listening to other peoples ideas pitches.
5. What Factors Shaped My Idea?
• The factors that shaped my idea were recalling
how documentaries that I have watched in the
past were structured and communicated to the
audience specifically “Video Games The Movie”
as in this documentary they include a lot of
imagery and archive footage related to the
subject and montages both are conventions I
would like to utilize in my documentary.
6. Final Idea
• My final Idea is “How has VFX affected the film
industry and audiences”, I will investigate
normal peoples opinions on VFX and how they
have affected their viewing experience, and
the opinion of industry members and how it has
affected how films are made and their own
roles in their own industry.
