2. When creating my magazine I have aimed to represent
teenagers and young adults who are fans of
electronic/house music. On the cover page of my
magazine I have showed and represented the fans within
this genre as ‘all about the music’. Within my front cover
the model I have used is a male and who is wearing dark
coloured clothes which then links in the with the dark side
to the music and the ideology of being young, rebelling
and owning a dark side to yourself. Because I have used a
male model this then links in with the ideology of the
genre of dance music that most listeners are male. The
model used is also dressed in modern clothes; this
represents the fans reading the magazine as also being
modern and fashionable within society.
3. When creating all the pages of my magazine I
have decided to look and base parts of my
magazine from the successful magazine of Mixmag.
Mixmag uses an informative mode of address; I
have then used this within my magazine as it will
help to attract the same type of audience. Within
the contents page I have also used slang and
formal language such as ‘Grab a holiday to Ibiza’
and ‘tunes of the year’. This language will help to
associate with a younger audience and then attract
the original target audience.
4. My magazine is aimed at both genders as it is
filled with things for both male and female artists
loved by both genders. The music genre for my
magazine to cover is the genre of
dance/electronic/house music. The magazine
content is mainly focused around what my target
audience wants, such as interviews with big
artists, reviews of music albums and the latest
dance singles and then also festivals and concerts.
My magazine research shows that the most popular
music genre for males 16-25 is dance/house music.
This why I have then used language, images and
colours to all help attract and represent this young
male target audience.
