2. Adobe Photoshop CS3
Adobe Photoshop has enabled me to create a professional and
realistic music magazine. Unlike other pieces of software such
as Microsoft Publisher, Photoshop uses a variety of tools to
assist me in the development stage of my magazine.
The range of tools is endless but the most helpful in my opinion
is the quick select tool. This tool enables to quickly “paint” a
selection using an adjustable round brush tip. As you drag, the
selection expands outward and automatically finds and follows
defined edges in the image. I can then select areas that I do not
want in my image and delete them, to be provided with an image
without a background or visa versa. 7
Another helpful tool is text effects. Instead of using standard fonts, I
can use the font and create a 3D image that captivates the reader.
This makes my magazine look more realistic and professional.
Coupled with text wrapping, this allows the text to be wrapped
around the picture in columns and fill all the available space to use.
In tern this allows me to avoid having blank spaces and instead fill
the space up with images or more text if needed.
3. Adobe Premier CS3
It is a timeline-based video editing
software application. This has been effective in
putting together pieces of my evaluation so that it is
in one video. The simplicity of the software enabled
me to effectively and efficiently put together a short
video explaining my research and why I came up the
product that I did.
I could also import AVI videos that I have made, and
simply place them in an appropriate order that tells
the sequence of events.
I can also edit out bits of video that I do not want,
making a final video that I need. Moreover, I can
overlay an image with a piece of audio which looks
professional.
4. Prezi
Although PowerPoint in very good at making
slideshows that can be shown to an audience,
Prezi is a new online slideshow format that
enables all work to be saved online and on
one big document.
Instead of separate slides, you are provided
with one page in which you are given the
license to import YouTube videos, or images
from Google or in face your own documents.
You can also create a path so each section
goes from one to another. This gave a
professional appearance and also excitement
which once was another boring presentation
5. Blogger / Google
Blogger is where I have uploaded all of my
work. It is useful as I can easily post any of
work on there without having to wait long for
loading and know how to use.
By posting Diary Entries, I can effectively see
what I have done that lesson, and what needs
to be done. I also label my work so that if I
need to make adjustments I can find it easily, it
also organises the Blog.
Google (search engine) has enabled me to
research similar products to mine and also
simply use information to increase the
standard of my own magazine.
6. Canon DSLR
Having up to 3.7fps shooting this camera could
effectively give me clear images with very high
resolution. It made the images stand out
simultaneously making them seem more
professional.
It also combines exceptional still shooting with the
ability to shoot Full HD (1080p) videoand selectable
frame rates. You can also shoot high speed 50/60fps
movies at 720P for when the action is really fast. An
HDMI connection allows High Definition playback of
footage and images on any HDTV. All of these
features made it easy to shoot video that I could then
upload to Premier and edit efficiently.
