Project Outcomes
1. Conducted 3 training / co-plan sessions to introduced 10+ common apps
and covered T&L activities for 1 Math module
2. Conducted 1 IT lesson as preparation
3. Conducted 6 Math lessons using iPad (within a 2-week try-out period)
– with Principal, Vice Principal and other teachers conducted informal lesson observation

– with Principal, Vice Principal and other teachers conducted informal lesson observation
4. Integrate 3 lesson plans with 4 iPad apps for T&L activities
5. Produced 240 minutes of video clips for future training
6. Created 2 promotion video clips for school promotion

IT literacy, computer basics, and iPad usage.

1. Scheduled Quiz in Edmodo did not show up

1. Efficient switching of classroom setting and efficient distribution of iPad

1. Bigger task for self-pace / plus optional tasks
2. For new/ difficult task, recommend to have bigger group (let students to help each
other)
3. For pair work, set “driver seat” and “navigator seat” to reduce shadowing effect
4. Use of Edmodo (instead of Lino) for sharing static information for individual
5. Use of a single Lino board (instead of multiple) for easy navigation and better
atmosphere

(practice speaking through explaining concepts and ideas)
7. For time critical tasks (e.g. quiz), schedule it to appear and prepare for contingency

could use anonymous access (e.g. NearPod) to reduce potentials of discouraging
students
9. For dis-engaged student, could use NearPod for synchronizing screens of students’
iPads and set classwork
10.For Dropbox folder structure, need to open appropriate sub-folders for easy
management and easy access

  • 4. Project Outcomes 1. Conducted 3 training / co-plan sessions to introduced 10+ common apps and covered T&L activities for 1 Math module 2. Conducted 1 IT lesson as preparation 3. Conducted 6 Math lessons using iPad (within a 2-week try-out period) – with Principal, Vice Principal and other teachers conducted informal lesson observation 4 – with Principal, Vice Principal and other teachers conducted informal lesson observation 4. Integrate 3 lesson plans with 4 iPad apps for T&L activities 5. Produced 240 minutes of video clips for future training 6. Created 2 promotion video clips for school promotion 7. Identified that parents are more interested in topics like Internet safety, IT literacy, computer basics, and iPad usage.
  • 5. Problems Encountered 1. Scheduled Quiz in Edmodo did not show up 2. Edmodo login problem / long login time 3. Explain Everything linked to previous Dropbox account 4. Students could not export Explain Everything videos / deleted their work mistakenly 5 mistakenly 5. Long export time from Explain Everything 6. Students could not open Lino board (because of duplicate name) 7. Unable to project teacher’s iPad screen 8. Some students disengaged when teacher was talking 9. More…. <To be discussed>
  • 6. Merits 1. Efficient switching of classroom setting and efficient distribution of iPad 2. Very good pair work 3. Very good preparation of work (PowerPoint / Edmodo / Voxel / Lino) 4. Very good use of Edmodo in synchronizing teaching pace 6 5. Very good use of Lino to let students see each other’s work 6. Very good use of Dropbox for dispatching info and collecting results 7. Very good teacher support (IT lesson as foundation) 8. Good preparation of TSS/TA 9. TSS quickly resolve screen projection problem / setup of iPad 10.Excellent atmosphere

For new/ difficult task, recommend to have bigger group (let students to help each other) 3. For pair work, set “driver seat” and “navigator seat” to reduce shadowing effect 4.
