I own and operate this freelance firm that provides concepts and copy for agencies
and private clients throughout the U.S. Milestones include the concept and creation
of the 600-page bid book and accompanying video for Florida 2012’s Olympic bid,
winning best brochure in the nation from the Institute of Residential Marketing,
numerous Gold and Silver Addy awards for a wide variety of clients, and the re-
creation of the Pinch A Penny brand. Clients have included include University
Community Hospital, University Community Hospital Foundation, BayCare (the
creative agency for hospitals, including Morton Plant, St. Joseph’s, Tampa Children’s,
and St. Anthony’s), Hilton Hotels, The Woman’s Group, Pediatric Cancer Foundation,
National Kidney Foundation, Wheeler Wealth Management, Kobe Marketing, Nelson
Consulting, Energy Softworx, Centex Homes, Chase Manhattan, Bally Gaming,
Lighthouse Publishing, Radsick Advertising Group, Peak Biety Advertising, and The

In addition to maintaining my freelance business, I served as the operational,
marketing and advertising director of a corporation that introduced the first barrier-
free wheelchair bowling system in the world, which allowed even high-level
quadriplegics to bowl despite their disability. Working with a variety of professionals,
I helped direct the advertising and marketing plans I had drafted, and all promotional
tools. From a PR perspective, I was able to gain by-lined feature coverage in major
publications such as Ability Magazine, the Tampa Tribune, the Detroit Free Press, and
Rotarian magazine.
June 1985 to June 1988: Chief Copywriter, Associate Creative
Director, Press Relations Director, Denton Advertising
I worked with agency principals, clients and art directors for large, exclusively real
estate client base. Clients included U.S. Home, ITT Development, Orion Properties,
and Westinghouse Communities. Community roll-outs and maintenance advertising
include Tampa Palms, Westchase, Walden Lake, Sun City Center, Beverly Hills, Cory
Lakes, Jacaranda, Palm Coast, and Pelican Bay. Commercial development
introduction and on-going creative include Gateway in Ft. Myers, Orion Center, Tri-
County Business Park, and several high rise properties in downtown Tampa and St.
Petersburg.

September 1985 to May 1986: Advertising and Press Relations

I supervised staff and coordinated all advertising and public relations projects with
both the in-house marketing department and outside agency resources for this Inc.
500 computer software development firm.
May 1984 to September 1984: Editor, On The Green.
I interned as the editor for this South Florida golf publication. Duties included all
writing, layout and pre-press production.

I was awarded a Bachelor of Journalism and a Associate Degree in Commercial Art.
In addition, I worked as an AP/UPI stringer for the Columbia Daily Tribune and
Kansas City Star.

I was awarded a scholarship to take journalism courses while in the last two years of
high school. I also worked as an AP/UPI stringer for Northwest Missouri, in addition
to writing for the Missouri Western News.
