Notas del editor

  1. Inform people of the local festivals that are new and to advertise upcoming events in their area. educate them on new genres of music and to entertain them with an enjoyable experience, as no other magazine is like this one. For example the magazine could include a list of events for that month and the information about the location, price of tickets and the artists performing at the event and what events are at the festivals for example stalls. This will help benefit as it will encourage people to support unknown artists local to them, as well as widen their knowledge of the genre of music that is being performed at the events. its a way for family and friends or groups of friends to come together and have a fun time making memories.
  2. The unique selling point to this magazine would be having a catchy slogan and a story behind why the magazine is a strong choice for the Hertfordshire music magazines. The need for this magazine is to explain the importance of how no other magazine is similar to this one, its a way for family and friends or groups of friends to come together and have a fun time making memories. I could also give some motivational quotes and tips and any puffs of the popular music being involved in this magazine.
  3. This magazine has a subscription of 3 issues for 3 months is 20.08. Our magazine would be successful as it would be £4.00 per issue and a monthly subscription will cost £16.00. our magazine  contains all the details of the music festivals happening in this area which is more appealing than having loads of information on something they aren't too interested in. This will then encourage readers to take an interest in our magazine over other competitors, as Hertfordshire life has articles on many things such as fashion, travel, things to do and more. Fest world feature reviews of festivals across three continents, an interview with the founder of an iconic music festival. Our magazine will be based around Hertfordshire and focus on one area instead of many areas, which could overwhelm people who are not local. Their magazine is print and can only be accessed if subscribing or buying issues at a newsstand, we are going digital and print for our magazine which will be able to be accessed by the primary and secondary target audience and for the age demographics of 15-60. Their magazine includes articles such as  reviews, news, playlists, features and blogs from Gramophone. Ours is different as we have a bit more inside information on our front cover which is suspenseful as it will make the readers want to read more details on what's inside the magazine, also we will include interviews, reviews of the festivals, images that were taken from a photographer of the events happening and any inside information.
  4. My magazine is a music festival magazine, to make sure this magazine is unique and stands out the cover will have to be eye catching and appeal to the target audience of the older generation as well as the younger generation making sure we don't draw anyone away. The size of this magazine will be A4 and will be 42 pages long, it will be produced ever month. I have decided to keep the pages quite low/high as if there were loads of pages it could get overwhelming and as I am publishing it every month loads many pages could get too much, as we have added information and advertisements. The price of the magazine will be £4.00 each or a subscription that will start off with £10.00 for 5 issues and 1 half price ticket or maybe even 1 free ticket to the festival of your choice.  The genre of this magazine will be based around festivals in Hertfordshire, this links back to what we have been asked from the clients requirements of being based around Hertfordshire.  As the magazine is being published every month this is so that the writers have time to research about upcoming events, and can gather all the information required.
  5. The front of the page will include a masthead at the top centre with the title of the magazine- Herts Fun festivals.  There will be a few main cover lines across the page to highlight the key focuses of the magazine, and to engage potential readers in the content. The cover lines will give the reader an idea of what is in the magazine. The front cover will include an image relating to the festivals. I will choose these colours as they are quite bright and lively and have a festival scheme vibe with a range of colours. This will also bring attention to the target audience for older and younger people, as it looks fun and enjoyable by looking at the front cover and will make the audience want to delve in and read more information and see what is available in their area. The titles of the events should be in a bold colour or font so that the reader can easily find certain events that are near them that having to read through all the information.  The double page spread will also include images to engage the reader so that it isn't too text heavy. These images could include examples of the location of the festivals happening in that area, pictures of musicians attending or performing at the event.
  6. I have decided to use these ranges of colors as these are often colours that are used when promoting festivals
  7. The age demographic for a primary audience will be targeted at ages 12- 25 and the secondary audience will arrange from 26-60. However after researching I have found out that "we discovered that festival-goers are most likely to be between the ages of 25 and 34, with most having their first festival experience at the age of 22." Therefore i believe that this magazine will benefit from being targeted at many people, as adults have children that will want to go and children will want to go with friends to have a fun time so this magazine will benefit a wide range of ages. This magazine is aimed at all genders and ethnicity groups, as Hertfordshire is a diverse area. Also festivals are not listened to by one specific demographic, this will appeal to all audiences which will help to encourage potential readers to learn more about the genre. As this magazine has the option of subscribing monthly, I think that it should be aimed at those who are financially stable and can afford to spend money on a magazine every month. A secondary audience could be included here, as the magazine will be available to read online for free. This means that people in various financial situations can read the magazine, assuming they have access to the internet. The only disadvantages of reading online is that the readers wont receive the exclusive benefits that those who subscribe monthly. A secondary audience for this magazine could be friends or family who are looking to research about upcoming events so that they can purchase tickets for people they know. Another secondary audience could be people who are new to the festival area and are looking for somewhere to learn more about the festivals and concerts this could be for their own personal benefit or for a friend or to know more knowledge.
  8. A way to save money from these things is to use someone who is doing work experience or a volunteer, this would provide experience to those looking to get into the media industry. This could be for the photographers and models and for the graphic designer and marketing management might be better to hire someone.
  9. This can become to a big cost for these things so we need to be aware and keep track of what we are using our money for and possibly look out for deals. Graphic designers roughly paying are £250 a day, a photographer is £599 for a full day, £350 for a canon camera( x2 as one for back up or if we need multiple shoots taken). microphones can vary from 25+. A way to save money from these things is to use someone who is doing work experience or a volunteer, this would provide experience to those looking to get into the media industry. This could be for the photographers and models and for the graphic designer and marketing management might be better to hire someone.
  10. I plan to distribute my magazine in areas where its more likely to be seen by the target audience, this could be advertising on social medias, shops and schools for the younger target audience. I think this magazine should mainly be published on social media as most of the target audience are on social media and will see this magazine and share it around. purchasing in-store: The magazine will be sold for £4.00 per issue. I think that this will be a popular method of distribution as its likely to be seen by a lot of people who are shopping. Monthly subscriptions: For those who are interested in this magazine and want to subscribe monthly, that will start off with £10.00 and 1 half price ticket or maybe even 1 free ticket to the festival of your choice. This includes benefits such as previews into the content of the upcoming magazine, as well as content that was planned to be in the current magazine but was taken out The design could be similar to the front cover of the magazine so that people will recognize when purchasing an issue. If the posters show the title and a section of the article people who see these can see what type of content the magazines include and if this interests them they might consider purchasing an issue. It should keep the same house style, including font style, genre and colour scheme as the magazine as it appeals to the target audience and the magazine itself.   Another way to market this magazine could be social media promotion this could be done by creating a page on media platforms that the target audience demographic would use. As the target audience for this magazine is ages 15-60, i think the best platforms would be Facebook and Instagram and twitter. To promote the posters of the magazine, there could be posts created that update followers on when an issue is being released and what the content will include in the issue. This will help keep interested readers updated on when they can purchase a new issue and what content the issue includes. Therefore, engaging with the target audience demographic online will help them to continue keeping up to date with herts fun festivals.
  11. To conclude, I believe that this idea is suitable for the client brief as it meets all the requirements, as this is being based around Hertfordshire and the local area. As well as this, the magazine will use appropriate colour schemes and fonts for the target audience. the marketing strategies will help the herts fun festivals magazine to be appealing, as it will meet the different demographics, those with financial constraints and those who want to see more exclusive content. Therefore, this magazine should be a success.
