Welcome • Aging2.0 London is all volunteers • We focus on what is beneficial to our UK community • This week we welcome the global community • We want to hear from everyone – for the benefit of everyone • This challenge is bigger than any one organization • People sharing their knowledge of problems, opportunities, failures and successes will accelerate our eventual but certain emergence from this crisis • In addition to the UK, we have people from US, Italy, Spain, Japan, Canada • The more, the merrier – as with any network, the value grows with all the additional people who join

In our series, we learned that Formal Care: UK industry is forced to work differently as a result of care demand surge and supply constraints • Massive push from hospital to the community • Occupancy rates up; Care homes waiting lists • Fee rates has gone up • Care staff self-isolating • Staff redeployment • Massive recruitment surge; quality improving • Routine inspections suspended • Accelerated operator approvals • Even more acute shortage of PPE

Last week we learned that… Italian and Spanish Care industry is forced to work differently as a result of COVID-19 • Flexible workflow • Longer shifts • Strong management critical difference • Digitization of communications • Fewer visitors -> less “normal flu” -> less medication -> lesson to be learned? • Now is the time to keep innovating • Success favors the prepared

Right place at the right time • For years, the “AgeTech” market has been very cautious and risk averse • Then Coronavirus hit and all market norms went out the window • In a matter of weeks, the changed dramatically • GP video appointments became highly desirable • Procure cycles reduced from months to weeks • Upfront block payments • Remote care is a high priority • Medical Device approvals in weeks
