To whom it may concern:
I am writing this letter as a reference for Ms. Joanie Scruggs. Joanie began working as my
Administrative Assistant in a temporary capacity on August 15, 2013. She performed multiple
responsibilities such as taking meeting minutes, interacting with Board members, managing my
Outlook calendar, scheduling travel accommodations, fielding telephone calls, and a vast
number of other administrative duties. Joanie's performance was such that I extended her an
offer to join me on a full-time basis beginning December 19, 2013. She remained my Assistant
until I left the organization October 3, 2014.
In addition to being my full-time Administrative Assistant, Joanie was also requested to take on
the role of managing the clerical needs of four physicians and other medical staff, which she
accomplished without any trouble. Joanie is to be commended for her initiative as well as a job
well done!
Joanie can be relied upon to maintain confidentiality; she is very professional and organized in
her work processes. I believe Joanie will bring exceptional talent and skill wherever she goes.
Sincerely,
~-m-:l~~

To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Joanie Scruggs to you. Joanie is a valuable
member of our hospital team since December 19, 2013. Her position is being eliminated as a new
Director of Patient Care Services has been hired and the focus of the position is drastically
changing.
Joanie is well-liked by her peers as well as other staff members and she is known for her
teamwork and "Can Do" attitude. When the Medical Staff Assistant resigned Joanie stepped in
and accepted the additional responsibility of the Medical Staff. There was no challenge she
would not accept and no employee she would not help on a project or job. She is that type of
employee.
Joanie always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude about work and life. We will sorely
miss Joanie's professionalism, skills, honesty and attitude and wish her nothing but the best.

Dear Sir/Madam:
Re: Joanie Scruggs
I have known Joanie Scruggs for over two years. She came to Shriners Hospitals for
Children - Greenville initially as a temporary employee to support our Director of Patient
Care Services.
During much of her time here, we were without a medical staff administrative assistant
so she gladly took on that role as well. She did an excellent job in all of her roles. All of
the staff liked her and admired her work attitude.
If we had an opening at Shriners for her again, we would hire her without hesitation.
gladly give her my highest possible recommendation.

To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to recommend Joanie Scruggs as a candidate for employment. Joanie has worked
as an Administrative Assistant with Shriners Hospitals for Children" - Greenville from 2013 to
early 2015, at which time she was promoted to Executive Assistant. She does an excellent job
in this position and is an asset to our organization. She has excellent written and verbal
communication skills, is extremely organized, can work independently, and consistently follows
through to ensure required tasks are complete. Joanie is very knowledgeable in all aspects of
the office environment.
For a year, the medical staff did not have an Assistant. During that time and without complaint,
Joanie willingly offered her assistance and filled in the gap with multiple administrative requests,
while maintaining a heavy workload. She has an excellent rapport with many constituents
served by our office including clients, employers, and other professional organizations.
I feel Joanie would be an asset to any employer and I recommend her for any endeavor she
chooses to pursue.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 864.240.3103.
Yours truly,
~,~~
