Benefits of Smart Classrooms
Source: News Articles, Analyst reports , and Secondary research
◦ A Smart Class is EdTech-upgraded classroom that cultivate education by opening doors to digital teaching and learning methods for both the teachers
and the students by coordinating latest advancements in technology with academics. The objectives of such classrooms are to invoke interest in
education among the student by introducing them to real-time e-learning with help of audios and videos, multimedia, images, online web
conferences, PPT presentations, 2D & 3D animations, etc.
◦ The presence of smart boards helps teachers to deliver lectures more effectively by using the different projections in their presentation to explain the
topic. Teachers can easily explain each and every part of the lesson with some special effects and graphic presentations. It helps to create a quick FAQ
session between teachers and students that actually makes a wonderful learning environment in the classroom
◦ Smart classrooms utilize smart gadgets for learning and teaching. The use of smart devices in education partially or fully eliminates the
textbooks/notebooks. The negligible use of paper makes education Eco-friendly leading to a solution for environmental hazards possessed by
traditional education
◦ By using smart classroom technology and interactive whiteboards, information can be illustrated with the help of photos, maps, graphs, flowcharts
and animated videos. This makes learning more attractive, interesting and easy to understand. It encourages the ability of students to learn and
memorize the topic for a prolonged period of time
◦ Smart class technology ensures the education reaches every student with different level of understanding equally. Moreover, implementing this kind
of classroom education enhances student-teacher interaction and collaboration. A digital board is the most common example of smart equipment
usually implemented in educational institutions, especially in schools, to teach with videos, presentations, etc. It acts as a large white tablet replacing
the traditional backboard with a touch screen and the chalk with a smart pen, which educators use to write on the white board
◦ Smart classrooms provides real-time blended teaching and learning, encourages e-learning and virtual classroom, improves academic performance of
students thereby enhancing their mental and physical development, provides students a better in-classroom experience, introduces students and
instructors to education technology

Impact of Covid 19 on Smart Classroom Market
Source: News Articles, Analyst reports , and Secondary research
◦ Covid 19, has had a positive impact on the smart classroom market in India. The adoption of smart classroom systems by schools is transforming the
traditional education system. The sudden switch is not only limited to private schools but even a number of government schools have started running
smart classes. Though the crisis is devastating, it is making schools and even colleges, technologically advanced
◦ Use of technology in education is one of those methods that will help improve the quality of education in India. It is also altering the way education is
provided in India. With the current pandemic, the opportunities to improve infrastructure across the K12 and higher education sectors has risen.
Private schools had already gotten onto the bandwagon of e-learning, smart classrooms and some even making tabs mandatory right from pre-
primary education. Now, considering the lock-down situation, it is expected that a lot of EdTech companies will see and perhaps seize the
opportunity to fill the gap that may exist in bringing more schools on to the digital platform
◦ A key aspect of coping with Covid-19 is to ensure that the learning remains a continuous process virtually. Connecting students and teachers through
digital platforms and necessary software through the use of laptop or phones is the latest transition in education trying to eradicate the physical
need of teachers or classrooms. This has become an ideal time to accept technology and its latest offerings in order to make education delivery to
students more efficient and make it more productive through online learning and assessments
◦ Many educational institutes are considering this as an ideal time to experiment and deploy new technology to make education delivery possible and
meaningful. In a move to not let the crisis hamper the curriculum, digital transformation has become a new norm with educational institutes across
the country. Many are leveraging it as a chance to be more productive and efficient while developing innovative and improved professional skills
through online learning and assessment
◦ Technology is turning education from teacher-centric education to both teacher and student-centric education. Virtual classrooms and various online
tools today allow us to make the engagement between the teacher and students as close to a real, in-classroom like experience, as possible.
Technology-based education makes the education system more transparent and equal. COVID-19 has only accelerated the adoption of technology to
make quality education accessible to everyone

Interactive whiteboards. Interactive whiteboards have brought
significant improvements in the education sector by simplifying the
learning processes. The technology has been integrated in all levels
of learning including primary school, high school and institutions of
higher learning
◦ In the last 3 years, there has been a gradual shift towards interactive
flat panel displays. Unlike interactive projectors, interactive panels
don’t always require a pen for writing on the display image because
they can respond to fingertip touch or palm touch. However, they
often feature stylus pens to enable a natural writing experience that
is similar to writing on a traditional whiteboard with a dry erase
marker
◦ Interactive projectors, by contrast, always rely on a computer
connection. The more expensive models may enable a wireless
connection to computers which improves convenience, but
ultimately teachers are required to hook up their laptop to the
projector every time it is in use. The installation of interactive
projectors is lower compared to interactive whiteboards, and
interactive flat panel displays

Future Trends- A shift towards Interactive Flat Panel Displays
Source: News Articles, Analyst reports , and Secondary research
◦ It is expected that Interactive Flat Panel Displays will have higher growth rates compared to Interactive Whiteboards. Interactive flat panels have
better and unique features when compared to whiteboards and projectors, as a result of which their usage is increasing, although at present
interactive whiteboards have higher installations
◦ Interactive flat panels market has better display quality and low maintenance expense when compared to any other interactive whiteboards, as a
result their usage in smart classrooms across schools and colleges is increasing. The educational and corporate sectors are replacing projectors and
white boards with interactive flat panels also due to the fact that they are portable, eliminate shadow distractions, and have extended backlight
◦ They improve turnaround time and ease of access. This makes work easier and therefore results in time and other resource-saving. Thus, to gain
customer attraction, companies are using interactive displays to showcase information about their products. Companies such as Newline have
replaced interactive whiteboards with interactive flat panel displays across several schools in the country
◦ Interactive flat panel displays take advantage of the technological advances as seen in tablet devices. Those touch-screen capabilities are magnified
on an interactive display whose functionality is similar to that of a tablet. Also, the quality of the image displayed on the interactive flat panels was
exponentially better than what we had seen on the whiteboards. The image quality also does not degrade over time, as we had seen with the
projectors used in our classrooms
◦ Multi-Touch Displays are a better long term investment than Interactive Whiteboards for many reasons. Although the initial cost to purchase an
Interactive Whiteboard may be less than the cost of an Interactive Display, the projector bulbs are expensive and have to be replaced an estimated
2,000 to 8,000 hours (or every two to three years, on average). In addition, with more moving parts, Interactive Whiteboards cost more to set-up and
more to maintain
◦ Interactive projectors are another segment which has been showing decent growth but is expected to grow at a slower rate compared to both
interactive flat panel displays and interactive whiteboards. For clients who are already using the projectors in their classrooms/board rooms, they will
always prefer the Interactive whiteboard solution independently. However, for a customer who is looking for the projector and Interactive
whiteboard combination; they might go for Interactive projector solution

Interactive Products Market for Smart Classrooms in India : By Technology used in IWB’s
◦ Optical interactive whiteboard have the maximum installations
across classrooms. These types of interactive whiteboards are touch
sensitive through the image sensors placed in the frame of the
board. EyeRIS interactive whiteboards use a high-speed, high-
resolution image processing unit which acts as an input device to
the computer. It works on the principle of tracking the 3D space in
front of the sensor for optical signals to further analyze and process
them as intelligent input for any computing system
◦ In terms of technology, infrared interactive whiteboards have the
maximum number of installations with most of the players such as
VAMAA, Hitevision, Smart Technologies, and several others provide
IR based IWB’s. An infrared interactive whiteboard is a large
interactive display that connects to a computer and projector,
movement of the user's finger, pen, or other pointer over the image
projected on the whiteboard is captured by its interference
with infrared light at the surface of the whiteboard
◦ DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology, which is one of a variety of
technologies SMART Technologies has developed for interpreting
touch with interactive displays. DViT uses invisible, infrared (IR) light
and special cameras to detect touch on interactive displays and
whiteboards. Compared to IR based IWB’s their adoption level is
currently on the lower side, although these type of IWB’s are
growing at a faster pace

65. The V4C Advantage
Spot on Research Objectives
•Spot on research objectives: Though its good to have detailed understanding on all aspects of business,
with limitations in time and investment its not always possible
•Rather in most cases, its not required too.
•We discuss with client and finalise the right research objectives, that are feasible and are inline with the
client’s business objective
Customised Research Approach
•We believe every business challenges are unique, and one-size-for-all doesn’t workout in research; V4C

•Unlike large research firms, we don’t offer any research tools and are open to think wide, keeping in mind
only the client requirement
Outcome that is beyond ‘Just Data’
•We are aware that most of the companies have ‘macro view’ about the market they are operating
•We do ‘micro market analysis’, keeping varied lenses – Price, Region, Potential Segments etc
