This document describes a personalized energy efficiency program targeting system developed by PG&E using association rule mining. The system, called the "EE Recommender", analyzes customer characteristics and past energy efficiency product adoptions to discover relationships and rules between customer profiles and which products they adopt. These rules are then used to provide personalized recommendations of energy efficiency products to customers based on their characteristics, even if they have not previously adopted products. The system was validated using precision, recall, and F1 score metrics, showing it can accurately match customers to products they may adopt to increase energy savings.
