12. My Customer’s request
• We are using SharePoint 2007 team sites
• We want to move to SharePoint online
• We have external users who use some of the sites
• They (External users) are setup in our AD (on premises)
• Our SharePoint administrator adds external users to each site
• What is the best way to set this up with Office 365?
• We have setup Azure Active Directory
• Do we need to buy extra licenses for external users?
13. Current state
• Each external user resides in an OU in AD
• They login using ext-username/orgdomain
• Internal Site URL is extended externally (HTTPS)
https://ext-teams.org.nz
• Each site shared externally is a site collection
• Site collections use common functionality
• Document Library
• Calendar
• Task List
• Announcements
18. My Customer’s request
• We are 120+ people, in 23 locations around NZ
• and 600+ volunteers with little or no IT knowledge
• We
• don’t have much in way of ICT support
• don’t have a standard desktop, or common identity
• have just migrated from Google mail to Exchange Online
• we use dropbox to share files *
• How do we go about
• Taking on document management?
• Make it easier to share information (without losing control of our IP?)
