3. Introduction
Emotions and facial expressions plays an important
role in communication
Aim :
Creating computational machines that have
perceptual and sensory abilities like those of
human beings.
4. It makes a computer to sense and understand user’s
feeling and their behaviour
It enables the computer to respond according to the
detected emotional level.
The basic idea behind this technology is to give
computer human power.
5. By this,The machine can naturally interact with
human beings as humans interacts among
themselves
The term Blue eyes
Blue in the term stands for Bluetooth, which enables
reliable wireless communication
Eyes ,because the eye movements enables us to
obtain a lot of interesting and important
information.
6. To built a machine that can understand our emotions
Adding such perceptual abilities to computers would
enable computers and humans to work together
more as partners.
7. o There is some techniques which is similar to blue eyes
technology
o Technique which identifies human emotions using image
processing
o A set of videos having different emotional level were
shown to a group of people
o A system that has capabilities of giving detailed
analysis of eye region images
8. A Personal Area Network for linking all the
operators and the central system.
The system consists of
Data Acquisition Unit (DAU)
Central System Unit (CSU)
10. HARDWARE
Atmel 89C52 microcontroller - system core
Bluetooth module (based on ROK101008)
HD44780 - small LCD display
24C16 - I2C EEPROM (on a removable ID card)
MC145483 - 13bit PCM codec
Jazz Multisensor interface
Beeper and LED indicators
6 AA batteries and voltage level monitor
12. o Lightweight
o Runs on batteries - low power consumption
o Easy to use - does not disturb the operator working

15. •Simplest way
•People spend approximately 1/3 of their total computer time
by touching input device.
•This device can measure heart rate and temperature and
matches them with six emotional states.
17. Heart rate sensor :
The heart beat was measured through a
commercially available chest strap sensor.
18. Temperature Sensor :
The temperature was measured with a thermocouple
attached to a digital multimeter (DMM).
19. GSR Sensor :
The GSR was also measured with a DMM.
20. Photo Sensor :
General Somantic Activity:
The somatic movement was measured by recording
the computer mouse movements.
21. six emotional states:
happiness,surprise,anger, fear, sadness and
disgust.
22. High accuracy level
Fast in speed
Naturalness as compared to the old traditional
pointing
Less physical effort and stress as compared to
manual pointing
24. In smart cameras ,lie detectors and emotional speech
processing retailing record and interpret customer
movements
In automobile industry
In video games
Military
Power station
Flight control centres
Ovens and refrigerators
25. Ordinary household devices such as Television,
Oven may be able to do their jobs when we look at
them and speak to them.
Future applications of blue eyes technology are
limitless.
26. Understanding and recognition of emotional expressions
plays a very important role in the maintenance and
development of social relationships
Provide more delicate and user friendly facilities in
computing devices
Gap between the electronic and physical world is
reduced
