The AmCham China Leadership Development Program is designed to train young professionals as future leaders of the US-China business community and enhance the leadership development skills of program participants. Each year, the Board of Governors will select 10-12 candidates to participate in the 10-month program. Candidates must be nominated by an AmCham Member in good standing.
Each class of leaders will typically have one to two people who stay in China for the majority of their careers and eventually become cornerstones of the AmCham China community as committee members or as part of the Board of Governors.

About the Program
The AmCham China Leadership Development Program (LDP) mentors future leaders
of the AmCham China business community and US-China relations. The year-long
program selects qualified applicants from both the US and China, as well as from
different companies, industries, and experience levels. The first LDP cohort
matriculated in 2018 under the guidance of the AmCham China Board of Governors.
With the tools provided by the LDP, Fellows gain the skills to become leaders
throughout the AmCham China community, accepting leadership roles on AmCham
China’s Forums and Committees, and perhaps even running to represent AmCham
China on the Board of Governors.
3. Application Requirements

12. “The best thing about LDP is that I’m able to interact with talented young people from different backgrounds,
which inspires me to consider my own work from different perspectives. The invited LDP speakers each shared
invaluable business lessons and demonstrated what great leaders look like and how good practices foster
leadership. “
--Bo Zhu, Government Relations Manager, ADM Bio Science & Technology (Tianjin)
“The best thing about LDP is that the program is shaped by all the Fellows rather than the program organizers, so
we can propose topics in which we are really interested and that are relevant to our daily work and life. The invited
speakers were very experienced and insightful, and their workshops inspired our thoughts and discussion. I got
much more out of the one-year journey than I expected.”
--Cindy Sun, Public Affairs Manager, Mars
“The best thing about LDP is its diversity. We Fellows can discuss and express different opinions in the room and
can hear expert insights on important, practical topics. It is indeed both an open and tight knit community.”
--An Wang, Senior Government and Public Affairs Manager, NIKE Sports (CHINA)
“I would recommend LDP because it is an exciting journey to discover one’s leadership potential.”
--Eason Song, Senior Legal Counsel, Ford Motor (China)
