PRESENT SIMPLE
        (Negative and questions)
Para negaciones y preguntas en presente
 simple se utiliza el verbo auxiliar DO.
No aporta significado sino estructura.
En la tercera persona del singular se utiliza la
 forma correspondiente: DOES, en el resto se
 utiliza DO.
Tanto en negaciones como en preguntas al
 verbo principal no le añadimos –s en la
 tercena persona del singular, ya que
 cambiamos DO por DOES.
PRESENT SIMPLE (Negative)
Structure with I, you, we, they:
Subject + DO NOT (don’t) + infinitive (+ object)
I do not like apples / I don’t like apples.
They do not watch TV / They don’t watch TV

Structure with he, she, it:
Subject + DOES NOT (doesn’t) + infinitive
He does not smoke / He doesn’t smoke
It does not rain in Summer / It doesn’t rain in
PRESENT SIMPLE (Questions)
Structure with I, you, we, they:
DO + Subject + infinitive (+ object)
Do you like apples?
Do they watch TV?
Structure with he, she, it:
DOES + Subject + infinitive (+ object)
Does he smoke?
Does it rain in Summer?
 SHORT ANSWERS: Yes, I do / No, I don’t.
PRESENT SIMPLE

SOME – Alguno/a(s)
Para nombres contables e incontables:
   Some coins, some friends, some water…
Se utiliza SOME en frases afirmativas:
I drink some beer; he buys some bread…
EXCEPCIÓN:También utilizamos SOME
   en preguntas para OFRECER o PEDIR
   algo: Do you want some coffee?; Have
   you got some water, please?...
ANY

ANY – ninguno/a(s) – alguno/a(s)
Para nombres contables e incontables:
Any coins, any friends, any water…
Se utiliza ANY en negaciones (ninguno) y
 en preguntas (ninguna):
He doesn’t spend any money; Do you speak
 any language?; Have you got any brothers
 or sisters?
SOME and ANY

Con SOME y ANY se forman otras
   palabras:
Somebody, somewhere, something…
Anybody, anywhere, anything…
Se utilizan normalmente igual que some y
   any.
I see somebody there; She doesn’t know
   anybody here…
