More than 70 players from ODU have been drafted by Major League Baseball (MLB) teams since
1965. While the school didn't produce any MLB draft picks in 2018, two of its players were chosen
by teams in the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft. With the 319th overall pick in the 11th round,
the Kansas City Royals selected first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino. The junior registered a .302
batting average to go along with 16 home runs, 55 runs batted in (RBI), and nine doubles this past
season. He was also named to the 2019 All-C-USA First Team All-Conference.
