Why Realtors Are Hesitant To
       Use Facebook
 They don’t understand the privacy
  settings and hence don’t know how to
  filter private and public posts.
 They don’t want other Realtors to have
  access to their personal friends and
  clients.
 Afraid they will post something to
  someone else’s wall or their own wall
  and don’t know who can actually see it.
 They don’t understand “the technology”

  inundated with friend requests

 Your profile page should contain as
  much contact information about you as
  possible for people to connect with you.
Profile Page
YOUR WALL
 The “Wall” is where you post your
  “status updates”. Unless you change
  your privacy settings, anything you post
  here is visible to ANY of YOUR friends.
How Do I Post Something
On My Wall?
 1: First decide whether you want to
  share a status update, question, photo,
  link or video
 2: Click the corresponding link at the
  top of your Wall.
 To change who can see your post,
  select the lock icon drop-down menu
  below the post.
 3: Press the blue "Share" button in the
  lower right corner to add the post to
  your Wall.
Sharing with a small group of
            friends:
 Use the Groups feature to share
  content with a select group of people,
  like family members, your soccer team
  or your book club.
Your “Newsfeed”
 Things you share will appear as posts
  on your profile, and can appear in News
  Feed.
 (To control whether or not specific
  people have the option to view your
  stories, you can change the privacy
  settings for each piece of content you
  post.)
PRIVACY
 Use the Privacy Settings on Facebook to
  control who can see what
Creating Lists
 Lists help you “bifurcate” your
  messages.
 Create lists to help you separate friends,
  family, business relationships, potential
  clients, etc.
 By using lists combined with the privacy
  setting, you can separate business from
  personal
Tagging Photos
 Take group shots and “tag” your
  friends, influencers, etc.
 Use tagging to alert people to a great
  photo, upcoming event, “digital
  postcard” as a way to say “hi” and for
  FUN!
 Your tagged photos of others will
  appear along the top of their Wall.
Starting The Conversation
 Post about the things you find
  interesting in life
 DON’T post your listing info
 Share interesting links, pictures, etc.
 Take interesting pictures and video
 Be Unique, Be You!
LISTEN
 Go to your friends walls and see what is
  going on in their lives.
 See if any of their friends are discussing
  topics that you can comment on.
ENGAGE
 “Like” comments to show you were
  there
 Comment when appropriate
 DON’T sell yourself
 Keep it light and positive
 Be helpful by offering recommendations
  and referrals
Gather New Friends
 Collect cards at Chamber meetings,
  service clubs, PTA, Affiliate members.
 Ask to be a friend and WHY..don’t just
  send a friend request.
 Personal messages get you a friend a
  lot more often and show you “get” the
  etiquette.
Be A Hero-Not A Zero
