U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act deems :
Copying of copyrighted music (with the exception of
making a copy for your own use) as illegal.

The U.S. Code protects copyright owners from the
unauthorized reproduction, adaptation or distribution
of sound recordings, as well as certain digital
performances to the public.

In more general terms, it is considered legal for you to
purchase a music CD and record (rip) it to MP3 files
for your own use only. Uploading these files via peer-
to-peer networks would constitute a breach of the law.
 Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)
 Its members are the music labels that comprise the most vibrant
        record industry in the world.
     RIAA® members create, manufacture and/or distribute
approximately 85% of all legitimate recorded music produced
and sold in the United States.

 Record Companies
 Recording companies have sued 24 Oklahomans in federal
court. Eight cases have ended with a total of at least $34,450
        paid to the recording companies.

                                               finest acoustic guitar soloists

Compared to music buyers,
                          music sharers (pirates) are:
 31% more likely to buy single tracks online.

 33% more likely to buy music albums online.

 100% more likely to pay for music subscription
    services.

 60% more likely to pay for music on mobile phone
According to Torrentfreak.com article on a study conducted concerning digital pirating
http://torrentfreak.com/pirates-are-the-music-industrys-most-valuable-customers-100122/
 It is Illegal according to the
        U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act
 Un-Named source’s (who’s name might start with a B)
personal direct effect on the music industry because of
pirating music files totals $33.00 for 15,000 songs. But
how much has he contributed due to discovering new
    artists?
 I have found many new artists due to copy right laws
being infringed on like James Dupre’s covers on
YouTube and pass that on as well as purchase music
    due to new discoveries.
 Conclusion:
 It’s a choice, you have to decide who to believe for statistics and
know that it is illegal to Violate Digital Piracy Laws.
