4. Justin Isbell's CV @ 8th June 2015 (AXA)
1. AXA Wealth, Basingstoke April 2011 – April 2012
Contracted to AXA Wealth in a Business Analyst role.
The AXA Group agreed to sell the Winterthur Life company and its products to Friends Life. The
sale agreement required a split of Winterthur Life products with ownership of corporate pension
products moving to Friends Life, but ownership of personal pension products staying with AXA
Wealth.
However, the corporate and personal pension products and their associated schemes, customers
and policies all resided on a single platform (Embassy).
A Separation project was therefore initiated to enhance the Embassy platform and it’s peripheral
systems to allow Friends Life users to administer Friends Life / Winterthur Life products and policies
on a shared system without being able to view or administer personal pension products belonging
to AXA Wealth (and vice versa). The project was successfully completed in November 2011.
My role on the Separation project required me to:
Produce a business requirements document that identified the Quotation systems impacted
by the sale of Winterthur Life, their user communities, the types of quotations / illustrations
that could be requested by these user communities through these systems (e.g. pre-sale,
post-sale, target income, income drawdown annual / mandatory review etc.) and for which
products these illustrations could be requested. The document also specified the changes
needed to these Quotation systems to allow illustrations to continue to be requested for
Friends Life and AXA Wealth products following the completion of the Winterthur Life sale.
Provide support to developers and test analysts during the development and testing stages
of the project; also to assist with the preparation and execution of system test plans.
After the successful completion of the Separation project I continued to provide day-to-day support
as a member of the Quotes Support team. My role on this team required me to:
Provide on-going ‘business as usual’ support for internal & external users of AXA Wealth’s
Quotation systems. This included investigating and resolving system and user access
problems as and when they arose and where such problems could not be easily or quickly
resolved, to raise an item on a quotes issue log.
To manage the quotes issue log. In particular to liaise with the business to understand which
issue logs they deemed high priority and then to investigate and write a Small Change
Document for each, detailing my proposed solution. I then sought and gained business
approval for each of my solutions and (when coding was completed) system tested the
changes before arranging for the business to perform user acceptance testing. Finally, I co-
ordinated the release of these changes to the Live environment each quarter.
