October 30          Fort Drum             Women can find resources for the information they may need to insure a
9 am – 4 pm         Women’s               successful Military Family experience at Fort Drum. The Women's Conference,
                    Conference            held at the Commons, will be a great opportunity to learn vital skills, meet new
                                          people, build on you resiliency tool box learn about all of the resources offered
                                          on and off Fort Drum. Registration is required.        Martila Seals 772-0593

October 30          Family Night at       Spend the evening out with the kids at the Winner‟s Circle. Each week there is
1:30 – 3:30 pm      The Commons           a special fun activity for the children to enjoy. The Pizza and Pasta Buffet is sure
                                          to meet anyone's appetite. $7 for adults and $4 for children 8 and under. Each
                                          week a different themed entertainment is provided for family fun. The Family
                                          activity scheduled Activity this week includes a Costume Party with a Hayride.

October 30          New You Now           This Women‟s Empowerment group meets monthly and features a different self

October 31          BOSS 5K Zombie        BOSS invites you to run for your life at the BOSS Zombie 5K Fun at Remington
7:30 am             Fun Run               Park‟s Lloyd‟s Landing with a fee of $10 and open to DOD ID Card holders 18
                                          years of age or older. Runners will be given “health flags” attached to a belt
                                          which is worn during the race and represents a healthy uninfected human. The
                                          zombies want to take your flags and if they succeed you “die”. Health bonuses
                                          are hidden along the course, and if found, can assist runners in finishing the race
                                          alive. The several obstacles scattered along the course plus zombies wanting
                                          runner‟s make it hard to complete this race without becoming one of the
                                          “undead”. Register at and Recreation, Bldg P-11115, Iraqi Freedom Drive from
                                          9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Saturday or at Lloyds Landing on the day of
                                          the event beginning at 6:30 am. Zombie volunteers are needed! To become a
                                          Zombie, you must be 18 years of age or older and fill out a volunteer

October 31          Teen Costume          Teens in grades 6 - 12 are invited to the Youth Center for a spooky night of
6 – 9 pm            Ball                  fun. Food, contests, games and more. Free to teens who dress in costume, $3

November 1 –        Dress a Turkey        Dress up or color our cartoon turkey! For all ages. Entries will be displayed in

November 1          Middle Years          This workshop is designed to assist parents with children between 5 & 10.
9 – 11 am           Parenting Class       Topics include: development, discipline, and sibling rivalry, communication skills,

November 1         Automotive       This Class is held each Thursday a different area is covered each week. This

November 2, 3, &   Used Book Sale   The McEwen Library invites the public to a Used Book Sale this weekend. The
5                                   sale will run during regular Library business hours and offers Adult books for
Library Hours                       50¢ each, children's books are 25¢, movies are $1, and CDs are $1 on Friday
                                    and Saturday. On Monday the sale continues with all you can fit in a bag for $1!
                                    Come early for best selection, and then return near sale end for best prices.
                                    Please be aware that the library is closed on Sundays. Cash only accepted for
                                    purchase of items at the sale and you are asked to bring small bills or change!
                                    Volunteers are needed for set up is this evening and take down Monday after
                                    the sale. If you are interested in volunteering please visit the library. Proceeds

November 3         ATV Ride         Take a ride on one of the many recreational trails available in the North
7 am                                Country. Participants must have previously taken the ATV Safety Course. The
                                    maximum number of participants is12 riders per trip, Cost for this trip is $40

November 3         Indoor Soccer    This tournament will be conducted at Monti Physical Fitness Center. This
9:30 am            Tournament       tournament is open to active duty military assigned/attached to Fort Drum,
                                    Family members 19 years and older, retirees, reservists, and DoD civilians
                                    employed on Fort Drum. Rosters are due to the Sports Office, Bldg. M430A

November 3         Creative         One of the best ways for teens to express themselves is through writing and
11 am & 2 pm       Expression       pictures. Youth in grades 6 – 12 are invited to McEwen Library and see how
                   Workshop for     creative they can be. Instruction will include starting a story and creating a
                   Teens            scene. Participants can bring small items with them to photograph, or use what
                                    we have available. Participants will leave the workshop with the knowledge of
                                    how to start telling a tale, and bring it to life. This program is for kids in the
                                    6th through 12th grades only. Registration is required, space is limited.

November 5 & 6     AFTB Level 1     “Military Survival Skills” training for family members. Army Family Team
9 am – 4 pm        Training         Building is hosting Level 1 training at the Army Community Service building, P-
                                    4330, Conway Road from 9 am – 4 pm each day. This training will introduce
                                    you to Army basics and much more. This training is two days, free and open to
                                    all spouses, Soldiers and DoD Civilians. Register today by calling or visiting

November 5         Newcomers        Welcoming Soldiers, Families & DoD Civilians to Fort Drum! Receive valuable

                                    DOD Civilians and Family members about resources available at Fort Drum

November 6         Employment 101   Learn the basics of searching and applying for a job. Learn how to conduct a job

November 6         DRUM Welcome     Enjoy a narrated tour of Fort Drum and the surrounding community. Bring a

Adventure Training invites you to enjoy a bird hunting trip in November. Participants will be
traveling to Whispering Pines Hideaway to go bird hunting. There is pheasant, chukur
partridge, bobwhite quail, Hungarian partridge, mallard ducks, and wild ducks hunting when in
season. Flexible dates, $60 per person, 4 person maximum. You can bring your own hunting

The 5 sale will run during regular Library business hours and offers Adult books for Library Hours 50¢ each, children's books are 25¢, movies are $1, and CDs are $1 on Friday and Saturday. On Monday the sale continues with all you can fit in a bag for $1! Come early for best selection, and then return near sale end for best prices. Please be aware that the library is closed on Sundays. Cash only accepted for purchase of items at the sale and you are asked to bring small bills or change! Volunteers are needed for set up is this evening and take down Monday after the sale. Youth in grades 6 – 12 are invited to McEwen Library and see how Workshop for creative they can be. Instruction will include starting a story and creating a Teens scene. Participants can bring small items with them to photograph, or use what we have available. Participants will leave the workshop with the knowledge of how to start telling a tale, and bring it to life. This program is for kids in the 6th through 12th grades only. Participants will be traveling to Whispering Pines Hideaway to go bird hunting. There is pheasant, chukur partridge, bobwhite quail, Hungarian partridge, mallard ducks, and wild ducks hunting when in season. Flexible dates, $60 per person, 4 person maximum.
