  5. 5. What is tableau ?  Tableau is a powerful and fastest growing data visualization tool used in the Business Intelligence Industry. It helps in simplifying raw data into the very easily understandable format.  Data analysis is very fast with Tableau and the visualizations created are in the form of dashboards and worksheets.  The data that is created using Tableau can be understood by professional at any level in an organization.  It allows a non-technical user to create a customized dashboard.

  11. 11. Data Massage  Data massage is a process of applying cleaning operations such as filtering, adding, renaming, splitting, grouping, or removing fields.  For complex datasets need advanced data cleaning operation, we can go with Tableau Prep tool.

  13. 13. Workbook creation  Dimensions (blue) are categorical fields. They are the labels in a visualization, the buckets that data falls into such as locations, product names, etc.  Measures (green) are quantitative fields. They are the axes in a visualization, the numbers that can be analyzed, such as price and counts of records.  Show Me can be accessed in the upper right corner of the screen. With field(s) selected, Show Me offers one-click options for chart types

Dashboard creation  A dashboard is a collection of different kinds of visualizations or views that we create on Tableau.  We can bring together different elements of multiple worksheets and put them on a single dashboard.  We can place relevant charts and graphs in one view and analyze them for better insights.

You can then publish your story to the web or present it to an audience.  Each story point can be based on a different view or dashboard, or the entire story can be based on the same visualization seen at different stages, with different filters and annotations.
