COASTERS MONTHLY MAGAZINE
Created for my Commercial Publications class in my senior
year. December 2014
As mentioned, I created this magazine during my Commercial
Publications class as a final project. It is a 12-page magazine that
revolves around something my partners and I love: drinking
alcohol (in moderation, of course). The main focus of the magazine
is craft cocktails and fine liquors, so I wanted to create a magazine
that would appeal to the upper class and convey a sense of wealth
and sophistication. I envisioned this magazine being read by
gentlemen in their libraries after the polo match.

AD CLUB
“Ad Club” is the UTSA college chapter for the American
Advertising Federation. I was the creative director for
Ad Club in our first semester and I was responsible for
developing our brand identity. Specifically, I designed the
logo and promotional materials for the club, which can be
seen here.
I created this flyer for promotional usage by Ad Club, so I wanted
the design to be friendly to the eye. I wanted the viewer to be
able to extract the important information easily. I used alternating
(UTSA) colors and lines to guide the eyes.
For the logo, I wanted to create something simple, yet sleek and
attractive. I wanted to create a logo that conveys who we are as
designers but is still understandable to the common eye. This
logo won a design competition where students were asked to
create an original logo for the newly established Ad Club.

Quote Poster
Created for my Commercial Publications class in my senior year. 18in. x 24in. mounted on foam core.
For this project, we were to pick a meaningful quote from a list provided by our professor. I chose the quote
“Knowledge speaks but wisdom listens” by Jimi Hendrix. I wanted to convey a psychedelic feeling when
someone viewed the poster because of the nature of Jimi Hendrix and his music. I also wanted to use bright,
fun colors like purple and green to give it a 1960’s vibe.

MELO MEDIA LOGOTYPE
Created for my Digital Media Production 2 class in my senior year.
I created this logotype for part of an assignment in my senior year. Melo Media is a
hypothetical digital media production firm of my own creation. This is but one of many
logotypes I created for my (hypothetical) cutting edge design firm. All of my art is
heavily influenced by nature (space in particular) so I wanted to create a logotype that
represents futuristic, modern ideals while also embracing nature and organic matter. I
(playfully) envisioned this logotype going on the outside of space ships leaving from
Earth in the year 2100. It is intended to be fun and modern.

MELOGOLD GALAXY LOGO
I created this logo for my own personal and promotional usage as a
musician. Original size is 2560x1600 pixels.
I produce digital music under the moniker “melogold” in my spare time and I
needed some original artwork to accompany the music I post online, so I created
this logo (www.soundcloud.com/melogold). As mentioned previously, I am fascinated
by space. It absolutely influences my art, especially audibly, so I wanted to create a
visual piece of art to go along with the spacey, ambient music that I produce. This is
a visual interpretation of my music in a sense.

purple nebula eye
I created this image for my own personal and promotional usage
as a musician.
This is another artifact that I created for my own promotional usage as
“melogold,” the name of my musical side project (www.soundcloud.com/
melogold). Like the Galaxy Logo, I wanted to create something visual
that would convey a sense of awe and exploration while also remaining
mysterious and somewhat ominous. The nebula eyeball represents
space, the galaxy, and is an analogy for my brain and its creativity. I
wanted this image to be thought-provoking; I wanted my listeners to see
this and instantly wonder what my music sounds like.

leprechaun premium HARD cider - coaster treatment
Created for use by Leprechaun Premium Hard Cider Company as a coaster design. Freelance
work.
I did this coaster design for Leprechaun Premium Hard Cider as a freelance project. This shade of yellow is
one of the secondary colors specified in the Leprechaun brand identity guide. I wanted to create a coaster
design that would be appropriate for the upper class bars and restaurants that serve Leprechaun Premium
Hard Cider. Leprechaun is an elegant brand with elegant consumers, so I tried to design something
profound yet easy-to-interpret that can accompany the beverage. Understated, warm, and sophisticated.
It was created as a vector image so it could be resized to fit any size of coaster.
