He set the Tide's single-season rushing record with 1,658 yards, was a unanimous All-American, and helped lead the Tide to an undefeated 14–0 season and the 2010 BCS National Championship. He tallied 287 tackles, 23 for loss, and recorded 15 sacks in four seasons. He was named Alabama’s player of the decade for the 1980s and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005. Lee Roy Jordan Jordan was part of Alabama’s 1961 national championship team and was an All-America selection as a senior in ’62, where he helped the Crimson Tide to a 29-2-2 record. He posted an incredible 30 tackles in his nal game at the 1963 Orange Bowl, with President John F. Kennedy among the attendees. Ozzie Newsome Considered Alabama State’s best-ever football player of all time—second only to Bo Jackson— Newsome was an All-American in 1977, posting career-highs in receptions (36) and yards (804) with four TDs. He was the Crimson Tide’s player of the decade for the 1970s and was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
