And lling a roster spot isn’t easy.  Obviously, injuries to star players can potentially ruin an entire season for a team. But injuries to second-stringers may also have a grave e ect. Remember that in football, there’s a constant need for in-game substitutions. When a second-stringer is injured, players on the rst team don’t get to rest as much. Their performance su ers.  This is why football teams need to keep all their players in tip-top shape.
