7. How to use… Measuring pipette.
• Measuring pipette is a type
of pipette used to measure the
volume of the liquid dispensed
• They come in a variety of sizes in
that the volume is found by
calculating the difference of the
liquid level before and after.
9. How to use… Volumetric pipette or
Transfer pipette.
• Place the tip of the pipet into the
receiving vessel and remove your
finger to allow the liquid to drain.
• Touch the pipet once to the side of
the vessel. There will be a small
amount of liquid in the tip.
10. What the difference…
These have a 0 mL mark just
above the end of the pipette. A volume is
pulled into the pipette, sometimes to the
maximum volume, then the needed volume
is aliquot out.
These pipettes have a large bulb
with a long narrow portion above with a
single graduation mark as it is calibrated
for a single volume.
11. Clean pipette up..
Add some liquid inside pipette,
roll around and drain out.
Wipe out liquid by clean tissue
or clean napkin.
55. “Preparation of solution” to
“Concentration of solution”.
Put funnel on top of volumetric
pipette.
Transfer solution to volumetric
flak.
56. “Preparation of solution” to
“Concentration of solution”.
Use glass stirring rod for help
to transfer solution. Slow down to transfer.
57. “Preparation of solution” to
“Concentration of solution”.
Use wash bottle, wash beaker
and glass stirring rod.
Add some water and stir, do
around 2-3 turns.
58. “Preparation of solution” to
“Concentration of solution”.
Add washed water in volumetric
flak.
Wash around inside funnel for
cleansing substance.
59. “Preparation of solution” to
“Concentration of solution”.
Add more distilled water. Until almost marked line.
66. “Preparation of solution” to
“Concentration of solution”.
Drain in save bottle and
write…
