2. Costumes that the cast will
wear
O The costumes that the cast will wear will
be normal 21st century clothes. As are
film is set in current times.
O This would also make it more realistic to
the audience, if they can see the costume
reflecting the time period.
O The kidnapper face will never be seen so
therefore, they will only need to wear a
dark hoody and jeans and dark boots.
3. Jacqueline Muhammad
Jeans suggest
the casualness
within the thriller.
It also shows that
they are apart of
the modern era.
The natural
colours (cream,
white, green
and blue)
suggest the
purism within
the characters.
The
splashes of
dark colours
imply that
there could
be danger
ahead
4. Forest/house
O The reason why we will film here is
because this is an easy area for filming to
take place.
O It is a good area to build up dramatic
tension in the sense that it is an unusual
place for a thriller to take place.
O Also you do not have to pay for anything it
is free and easily accessible.
O It will also be set inside of a house as the
couple are indoors at the start of the title
sequence.
5. Story line
A young couple are sitting together watching
a film. However, what they do not know is
someone is watching. The boyfriend leaves
the room to make a drink, which he then
spills. This extends his time out of the room
which gives the kidnapper an opportunity to
make entry through the back window. The
kidnapper approaches the girl from behind
and places his hand over the girl’s mouth
which is the last shot we see.
6. Lighting
O The first shot will be set in the forest, we will use
high key lighting to show contrast in both sceneries
which will be the forest and house.
O Inside the house the lighting will be darker, as this
would symbolise the mood. The lighting by the
window will be purple as this connotes evil
intentions. The rest of the house will be natural
lighting.
O The end shot is of the kidnapper placing his hand
over the girls mouth. We will use fill lighting to his
hand over her mouth and the fear in the girls eyes.
7. Camera angles
O Longshot – the audience can see everything taking place and what is
around the scene e.g. the kidnapper standing outside of the house
O Extreme close up – the audience will be able to see, in detail what is
happening and facial expression of the characters. The fear in the girls
eyes at the end.
O Birds Eye view- the audience will be able to see everything from a
different perspective and to show the location of where it is set e.g. of the
house and of the forest.
O Worm eye shot- To make certain characters or objects seem bigger in
stature. e.g. when the kidnapper is walking up to the house.
O Point of view shot- the audience can see what is happening from
another characters perspective e.g. the kidnapper seeing the couple.
O High angle shot- Again, the audience can see what is surrounding
the characters and this could be used to create the tension in the scene.
We will use this towards the end when the girl is being tied up.
All the camera angles will be used to build this tension and
create an eerie atmosphere to the film.
8. Music
O The music that we intended to use will be created
on garage band or another music software.
O The characteristics of the music will be, that it will
have the same fast beat but with low tone that will
increase in pace and tone.
O The effect that this will have is, it will build up
tension slowly and also suggest further action will
take place (Piorectic code) Also creating the typical
thriller feel to the film.
O This is an example of how we want our music to
sound.

9. Typography
We have decided to stay with a modern thriller film and we will
be using phones to display are titles. The girl and boy will be
receiving messages ad when they are opened the producers
name. However we have also decided that we would like to go
with a more realistic approach, for example letting the names
of producers appear whilst a character is doing a certain
gesture or activity. We had been inspired by a short opening to
a thriller, it is called immersed.

The typography
has appeared
naturally as the
girl performs an
action/gesture
The
typography
would appear
like this on
the iPhone
A Producers
name will
appear in the
message
bubble as we
feel this is a
more current
and modern
way of doing
things
10. Transition of camera shots
After the extreme close up we would zoom out of the
extreme close up into a mid shot showing the couple
together watching a movie on the sofa.
after this there will be a quick editing of scenes
showing the kidnapper getting into the house quietly.
We would then fade this shot of the couple, showing
the kidnapper right behind them.
