Twitter, notable among them Paper Boat, Kingfisher,

Big, small, MNC, indigenous...
• Everyone’s eyeing digital – MNCs that have established a
firm footing in India, MNCs looking to build on their small
presence, indigenous firms
• Soft drinks giant Coca Cola launched their ‘Taste the
Feeling’ campaign across the globe, they also launched a
microsite called GIFtheFeeling.com
where every fan can share/customise GIFs that are
associated with feelings inspired by drinking a Coca Cola
and can then be shared on Twitter with the hashtag,
#TastetheFeeling

• Most companies are upping funds on digital ads, another
case in point being Unilever, which is spending nearly one
quarter of its advertising budge on digital in India
• In markets like China and the US, Unilever’s digital ad
spend touches almost 50 per cent.
• Starbucks is not a huge presence in India currently, but
the coffee chain is looking to increase store numbers to
100 in 2016.
• It is looking to take its digital spend up to tap an
emerging and rapidly growing market like India.

Digital ad spends world over
• Digital ad spend is expected to be 90 per cent of all
advertising spending globally, according to GroupM’s
prediction.
• Ad spend globally will witness a growth rate of 4.5 per
cent in 2016, the forecast adds.
• In 2016, for the first time ever, digital ad spending will
overtake spending on search ads in the United States,
according to marketing research expert eMarketer.

• The year will see over two billion smartphone
owners/users across the globe, triggering growth in
mobile ad spending.
• The boom will be driven by 4G services, and a spike in
Internet connections on mobile
• What’s more, India will see 651 million smartphone users
by 2019.
• The country is all set to turn the youngest nation, come
2021, It is up to brands to engage with this young
population.
