INDIAN ETHOS FOR WORK LIFE
INTRODUCTION
• Indian ethos helps in development of unique work culture. Work is considered as
duty or Sadhana and there is no difference between Karma(work) and
Dharma(religion). The term Dharma does not indicate any particular religion.
Dharma is a duty to be performed in a given situation.

society.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ETHOS AND ETHICS

NEED OR PURPOSE OF INDIAN ETHOS
1. Motivational :
• motivation is a belief or value which is internal not external . It does not
promote an greed in individual to have more & more writing of his work.
2. Welfare :
• Save your personal interest but do not forget the interest of other .
3. Loyalty :
• work culture is also concerned with workers loyalty & sense of belongingness to
the organization . No employee should make any AdWords comment about the
organization in public.
NEED OR PURPOSE OF INDIAN ETHOS
4. Self development :
• Self development is the process of learning new things and building new skills—
skills that help us increase our chances of success, achieving our goals, and
manifesting our dreams.
5.Establish a value system:
• A hierarchy of values that all moral beings have, reflected in their choices. Most
people's value systems differ. It's an individualistic concept. One's value system is
molded by one's virtues or vices, and experiences.
APPLICATION OF INDIAN ETHOS
1. Management attitude:
• Top management having from belief in vale system will be able to earn profit to
service and social satisfaction of stake holder( employee ,customer, shareholder).
2.Humanizing the organization:
• taking the time to understand the profound needs of all involved humans and
reframing the activities in the organization based on those human need .
3. Brain stilling:
• Brain-stilling or meditative silence is the most reliable method to discover solutions
to problems and difficulties which seem to be difficult to be tackled by reason and
intellect because through this one can come into contact with the inner mind or
higher consciousness called “Chetana”.
APPLICATION OF INDIAN ETHOS
4.Stepping back:
• To stop doing something or being actively involved in something for a time so in
order to think about it and make decisions in a calm and reasonable way.

• Indian ethos helps in development of unique work culture. Work is considered as

the company culture, ranging from the work environment
(ok, so ping pong tables don't hurt), policies, leadership,
goals, values, and mission .
2.loyalty : the state or quality of being loyal faithfulness
to commitments or obligations. · faithful adherence to a
sovereign, government, leader, cause, etc.
3. A commitment is a promises to do something desirable
(or not do something undesirable). A responsibility is an
obligation to do something desirable (or not do something
undesirable).

4. Not wasting time during working hours

TYPES OF VALES OF WORK PLACE
1. Dedication:
• How hard an employee works, or how much effort he/she puts forth, can go a long way. Obviously,
companies want results, but most employers prefer a worker who gives an honest effort to one who
might be considered a “natural” at the job, but is otherwise disruptive. Either way, when an
employee signs on with a business, she is agreeing to perform her best to help the company flourish.
2.Integrity
• An important aspect of workplace values and ethics is integrity, or displaying honest behavior at all
times.
3. Accountability
• Employees in all industries are expected to act accountable for their actions. That means showing
up when they are scheduled and on time, and not taking advantage of time allotted for breaks.
TYPES OF VALES OF WORK PLACE
4.Collaboration
• In almost every industry, workplace values and ethics consist of teamwork. That’s because most
companies believe that when morale is high and everyone is working together, success will follow.
5.Conduct
• Employee conduct is an integral aspect of workplace values and ethics. Employees must not only
treat others with respect, but exhibit appropriate behavior in all facets of the job. That includes
wearing proper attire, using language that’s considered suitable around the office and conducting
themselves with professionalism.
WORK LIFE BALANCE
• Work life balance is a method which helps employees of an organization to balance their personal
and professional lives. Work life balance encourages employees to divide their time on the basis on
priorities and maintain a balance by devoting time to family, health, vacations etc. along with
making a career, business travel etc.
• It is an important concept in the world of business as it helps to motivate the employees and
increases their loyalty towards the company.
BENEFITS OF WORK LIFE BALANCE
1. Work life balance increases the motivation of employees and helps them perform
better at job
2. It helps people to relieve their stress as they can spend leisure time with their
near and dear ones
3. Companies can maximize productivity from an employee who is rejuvenated and
refreshed as compared to a over worked employee
4. Healthy lifestyles can be maintained by having a work life balance. This includes a
good diet, regular exercises etc.
5. Employees who are highly motivated can help the business grow as they are more
attached to their job and careers

1. It is importance for origination to identify and knowledge the need and
wants of employees namaste in orders to have proper work life.

5. Inform and trained manager.
