“We remember those, who through
the intervention of war, had to leave
our midst. It is our fervent hope that
never again will a Grade 12 class
graduate to the tune of throbbing
war drums.”

Lawyer & Community
Leader “It would be at our lake, sunny and warm with the lake like glass.
My wife and I and our children would be hosting “the Annual,” a
get together with family. There would be all-day activities –
swimming, water skiing, golf, horseback riding, badminton – topped
off with an evening barbeque on the patio. After dinner the patio
fireplace would be lit and the evening would be marked with a
continuance of conversation and laughter until later in the evening
when it was time for each to cook bannock over the open fire and
dress it up with butter and jam. After everyone has drifted away to
bed, to sit by the fire with my wife and watch the embers slowly turn
from red to grey, and then say to her, “That was a perfect day.”

57. Thanks for the Memory
Thanks for the memory,
Of studying from books,
And boys that learned to cook
And football champs and freshie
queens
And liberties we took….
How lovely it was!
Thanks for the memories.
Of busy afternoons
The choir singing tunes
Of the yearbook and Orion
And exams we had in June….
This was our life.
Hum the next verse
Thanks for the memories
Of all the teachers here
The happiness and fear
The stage we walked
The smell of chalk
We’ll always hold this dear….
Wherever we are!

To the organizers of the TMSS Wall of Fame,
We would like to send our sincere regrets for not being
able to attend this evening’s award ceremony honouring
our Mother. We are very proud of her life, her work in
midwifery and for being our Mom. A special hello to our
family in Tisdale.
Sincerely,
Conar & Kiera
