The mission of Queendom T.E.A is to
assist teenage girls with building selfconfidence, developing their etiquette
knowledge, and recognizing the value
of giving back to their community. By
the end of the program, girls will learn
the importance of loving genuinely and
inspiring hope.

4. Why the Need?
• A girl is bullied every 7 minutes in the school yard, playground, stairwell,
classroom or bathroom.
• 1 in 3 girls who have been in a serious relationship say they’ve been
concerned about being physically hurt by their partner.
• Girls are more likely than boys to be victims of cyber bullying.
• Suicide is the third leading cause of death among adolescents and
teenagers. Teen girls are more likely to attempt suicide.
• Three-fourths of girls with low self-esteem engage in negative activities,
such as disordered eating, bullying, smoking or drinking.
• 1 in 3 girls between the ages of 16 and 18 say sex is expected for people
their age if they’re in a relationship.

• 1 in 5 girls is a victim of child sexual abuse
• Self-report studies show that 20% of adult
females recall a childhood sexual assault or
sexual abuse incident
• During a one-year period in the U.S., 16%
of youth ages 14 to 17 had been sexually
victimized
• Over the course of their lifetime, 28% of
U.S. youth ages 14 to 17 had been sexually
victimized
