Mr. Uribarri:
As you may know, many residents of New York are big fans of soccer. Getting together to watch
games at local bars, or “soccer bars” as fans call them, is tradition to these groups of people.
The Africa Cup of Nations, to be held in the country of South Africa, are a chance for different
countries on the African continent to show off their soccer skills. In Africa and Europe, this Cup
of Nations is a big deal. Compared to the US, it could be considered the professional-major
leagues. With so many soccer fans residing in New York, the Africa Cup of Nations are
something that many New York City readers would be interested in reading.
In 2013, the tournament was switched to being held on odd-numbered years so that it did not
clash with the FIFA World Cup. With this recent switch, many more soccer fans will want to
keep up with the Africa Cup of Nations, now that it is not overshadowed by the FIFA World Cup.
More New Yorkers will be craving soccer news, and you could provide this to them.
With only a short 7 hour flight from New York City, South Africa provides a beautiful stay as
you cover the Africa Cup of Nations. With the strongest economy in Africa and a stable
government, travel to South Africa would cause you no problems and would be an easy trip.
With 16 teams competing in the Africa Cup of Nations, I can easily provide you big names and
players in the Cup, the history of what the Cup has been through, as well as past and present
statistics of players and the game in general. If you are interested in the event or have any
questions for me, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (214)-923-8402 or at

Talking Points:
• The party in Phuket will promote the Surin beach. Although it is a gorgeous and beautiful
beach, not enough activities and events are held on the Surin beach. The Mayor of Cherng
Talay, Mar-Ae Samran, wants to aim to have more activities, like the party that will be held on
the beach, to happen more often.
• Representatives from Sydictive have met with local government officials in charge of Surin
Beach to discuss the details of the concert. A legal-binding contract was signed which promised
that Sydictive would provide the following things: adequate toilets, waste management from
the private sector to make sure the beach and other areas are kept clean, adequate first aid and
medical services, enough drinking water and water for sanitation, and security personnel to
watch the area, including the sea.
• Our company has also agreed to work closely with Cherng Talay police on traffic control and
crowd logistics. There will be an insurance policy for any damage cause to property at the
event. There is also a promised agreement with existing vendors and that our company will
provide booth spaces for local food.
• Sydictive will be donating a minimum of B200,000 to the local Surin kindergarten.
• Residents in the Surin Beach area will be able to register at the Cherng Talay OrBorTor to get a
pass allowing them to use the beach free without having to buy any event tickets.
• The event is expected to bring as many as 300,000 people to Phuket over the New Year
holiday period. This influx of people will provide local hotels, restaurants, shopping areas and
the Surin Beach area as a whole with a boost in the economy as well as spreading of Surin
Beach area and Phuket as whole as a good travel destination. In the end, this event will be
beneficial to the citizens of Phuket and Surin Beach.
• The majority of people who live in the area, and Phuket generally, support the event. Despite
many rumors, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has given their “stamp of approval, as
well as the support of the Association of Thai Travel Agents.

When I interned for Make-A-Wish in the summer of 2012, I helped host an event called
the 7000th Wish Event, where a little boy named Zander got his wish to become true. I was to
help with all the event planning to make this evening of the 7000th wish come true. Here are a
