PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Developed several PL/SQL programs to replace daily manual processes begin performed by the
support team. This corrected bad input data that was introduced by system users and external systems
inputting bad data and resulted in saving over 25 man hours per week.
Redesigned and rewrote Pro*C programs to customize EDI invoicing for reclamation of vendor
rebates which allowed automatic rebate collection with McLane, Inc.
Designed, coded and tested over 10 interfaces (ETL) between legacy mainframe systems and Oracle
(Retek ) Retail Merchandising System (RMS) using PL/SQL packages and/or Pro*C and Unix shell
scripts. This met the needs of the company to continue to use the legacy system along with the new
system.
Designed, coded and tested numerous Oracle Forms and Reports to customize the base RMS system
as per user requirements. Developed new, as well as modified existing Forms and Reports.
2. Performed production support activities during off-hours for nightly batch run using Pro*C and
PL/SQL programs along with ETL functions and served as the escalation point of contact to resolve
problems for the other production support personnel.
Interfaced with end users to do requirement analysis for system modifications and coordinated with
the end users during the User Acceptance Testing of these modifications.
Responsible for twice-hourly file uploads from over 900 stores into the ReSA (Oracle Retail Sales
Audit) system and the ETL processes to export that data from ReSA to RMS, Retail Data Warehouse
(RDW), and other external systems.
Created and modified SQL*Loader control files and files to load data into the Oracle Database.
Worked with the UC4 (Appworx) job scheduler to handle aborted programs.
Tuned problematic SQL queries in various system elements (Pro*C programs, Forms, Report, stored
objects) to increase speed and performance of extracting data from the tables.
Managed the PVCS Code Management system.
Developed MS SQL Server stored procedures and SSIS packages to interface with the Red Prairie
(JDA) Back Office System (1 year).

Served as the senior member of the InSite (Retek) development and support team. Supported the back
office system and provided daily operational support for data upload for over 900 Hess service
stations. Responsibilities included designing, creating and modifying various system components
consisting of Oracle Forms, Reports, PL/SQL code elements, Unix scripts, SQL*Loader, and Pro*C
programs. Supported Pro*C and PL/SQL nightly batch runs to export data to the Data Warehouse
System. Performed data analysis to discover and correct data issues which caused program aborts.
03/2002-02/2005 - Application Specialist, Performance Retail, Inc. (PRI), Austin, TX.
Served as a team member and the team lead for development and customization of the Oracle Retail
(Retek) system for the convenience store industry. Three clients were supported: Hess Corporation,
BP, and Conoco-Phillips. Modified and developed Oracle PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, Pro*C, Unix
scripts, and SQL Loader elements. Provided production support of three Pro*C and PL/SQL nightly
batch runs and exports to the Data Warehouse Systems for the stores owned by each client. Performed
data analysis to discover and correct data issues which caused program aborts.

Radio Shack, Inc, Ft. Worth, TX – Developed a custom code management system using shell scripts
to interface with the Unix RCS version controlsystem, including check out, check in and test
compilation of code units. Customized Pro*C programs as per company specifications. Reviewed,
tested and installed RMS patches. Developed customized password system for the RMS application.
Stage Stores, Inc, Houston, TX – Designed, coded and tested over 10 ETL interfaces between legacy
mainframe and the RMS database. Designed, developed, and tested custom batch report management
application using Forms. Created scripts used to refresh the development database from the production
database. Customized a system used to purge stale data from both the production and development
databases.
Michaels, Dallas, TX – Wrote short course and developed training materials for Business Analysts
for using the Oracle Reports tool. Modified existing and developed new Oracle Reports for the RMS
system. Designed and developed custom batch report management application using Forms to replace
3 existing applications.

Lead for converting the CMS-2, AN/UYK-43 hosted computer system to an Object-oriented, data-
driven Oracle database system hosted on HP-750 computers. Developed Pro*C programs to interface
between the Oracle database and the HP-UX operating system and the external communications
hardware. Developed user interfaces using Oracle Forms and PL/SQL programs. Developed
import/export package for operator-selected data using Oracle Forms. Developed and maintained the
project schedule. Prepared and presented project briefings to Naval and Litton management.
Prepared documentation in accordance with DOD standards. Developed interrupt handlers to interface
with the BIT3 EISA-VMEbus and the Sabtech MIL-STD-2497 device drivers and the HP-UX kernel.
Developed boot scripts for the HP-750 computer for specific startup functions. Designed, coded, and
tested a 6-PC simulator suite to emulate exterior UHF and HF ratios and 2 communication switches.
Assisted with installation of these simulators at two Naval sites. Designed, coded and tested a program
to test all functions of the Hughes Aircraft Red Digital Switch. Modified the original CMS-2 Naval
communications program to emulate missing exterior hardware.
