All the above said ingredients are taken in a kachakupi and
subjected to heat using varuni yantra, the drava obtained is collected . To
this drava shankha bhasma, shukti bhasma and varatika bhasma are added.
Within 1 &1/2 hr dravana occurs.
Dose: 1 drop with 1 pala jala.
Indication:Ashmari, Arshas, Mutrakricchra, ajeerna, visuchika, grahani etc..

In all types of vriddhi rechana, mootravirechana and
vataanulomana drugs can be given.
36. वाततकमुष्कवृद्चि चिक्रकत्सा:
• च्स्नग्ि ववरेिन
• Internal administration of सिीर एरण्ड तैल for 1 month
• Punarnava Taila and Narayana Taila for paana and basti.
• Basti using eranda taila with dashamoola kwatha.
प्रयोग in वातवृद्चि:
• Internal administration of Sh.Guggulu with Gomutra / Eranda taila
with gomutra.

Ksheera – Equal to the quantity reduced.

• Mandara Taila:
Kalka and kwatha dravya of Madhyanarayana Taila added
with paribhadra pushpa rasa and kamala swarasa is called mandara
taila.
48. • Saindhavaadya Taila:

Mishreya, Vacha, Hribera, Madhuka, Bharangi, Devadaru, Shunti,

ativisha, shyama, Neelini, Bilwa, Ajamoda, Pippali, Danti, Rasna.
Indication: Udavarta, Gulma, Arsha, Pleeha, Aadyavaata, Anaha,
Ashmari. In the above said conditions anuvasana basti should be given
using this taila.
49. Ruddhantra:
Lakshana – Toda, Malavarodha, Admana, aakshepa, chardi, balakshaya,
hikka, agnimandya.
Chikitsa – Virechana, Bastikarma, Swedana.
Parada Basti:
Basti karma should be done with 8 pala of shuddha parada.
Note:
Shastra karma is not indicated in ruddhantra as it may cause prana
nashana.
51. गलगण्डादद चिक्रकत्सा:
• In vataja – Swedana using vatahara dravya
or kamala naala.
• In kaphaja – Swedana & visraavana.
• In medaja – Snigdha karma followed by
siravyadha.
• Lepana of Pippali, sudha, lohamala, danti
and rasanjana.
52. सामान्य चिक्रकत्सा:
यवमुद्गपटोलानन कटु रूिञ्ि भोजनम्।
िदिद सरक्तमुच्क्तञ्ि गलगण्डे प्रयोजयेत्॥
Yava, mudga, patola, katu, ruksha bhojana. Vamana and
raktamokshana is the common line of treatment in galaganda.
कफज गलगण्ड चिक्रकत्सा:
िेविारु ववशालां ि कफगण्डे प्रलेपनम ्।
ििदनं शीषदरेकश्ि सवो रेिननको दहतः॥
Lepana using devadaru and vishaala. Vamana, shirovirechana and all
types of virechana can be adopted in kaphaja galaganda.
53. 1. Lepa kalpana:
2. Nasya in Nava Galaganda:
Dronapushpi swarasa along with vida and saindhava lavana.
3. Shweta Aparajita mula churna along with Ghritha.
4. Sh.Mandura is mixed with mahisha mutra and kept undisturbed for 1
month. Later it I ssubjected to gajaputa. Then again it is mixed with
mahisha mutra and subjected for gajaputa. Similarly 60 putas should be
given. Then the bhasma obtained is given in the dose of 2-4 ratthi.

Chaaga mutra.
• Apachihara Lepa – Ashwattha, Kushta, Go Danta, Varaha majja.
2. Dahana Karma in Apachi:
• 12 angula from the parshni, there is a marma named as indravasti.
Leaving behind the marma , a cut should be given using a shatra and
matsyanda sadrisha jaala should be taken out and using a taptashalaka
dahana karma should be done.
• 1 angula above the manibandha, Rekhakruti dahana karma should be
done.
56. आमपक्वग्रष्न्ि चिक्रकत्सा:
ग्रच्न्थष्वामेषु कु वीत शभषक् शोथप्रनतकरिययाम्।
पक्वामुत्पाट्य संशोध्य रोपयेद् व्रणभेषजैः॥
Vataja Granthi:
Lepa using Himsra, katuki, amrutha, bhaarangi, shyonaka,
bilwa, agaru, pippali, musali along with Go Pitta.
Pittaja Granthi:
• Ashuddha Raktaharana using Jalouka.
• Parishechana using ksheera and jala.
• Kakolyadi gana dravya sheetala kashaya paana.
57. • Haritaki churna along with draksha rasa or ikshu rasa internally.
• Pradeha using madhuka, jambu, arjuna, vetasa.
Kaphaja Granthi:
• Vamana, Raktamokshana.
• Swedana & Vimlapana.
Lepa kalpana:
• Vikankataadi Lepa: Vikankhatha, aragwadha,. Gunja, Shweta Gunja,

• Svarjikadi Lepa: Svarjika kshara, mulaka kshara, Shankha bhasma.
58. सामान्य चिक्रकत्सा:
• There are some similarities between granthi and arbuda roga
utpatti sthana, lakshana, nidana, dosha and dushya. So the physician
has to decide the line of treatment.
Vataja Arbuda:
• Upanaha using snigdha mamsa or Veshavara.
• Naadi sweda, Raktamokshana.
Pittaja Arbuda:
• Mridu Sweda and upanaha, Virechana.
59. Kaphaja Arbuda:
• Application of Shankha bhasma with moolikshara.
Arbudahara Lepa:
• Rajamasha, Tila, kulattha along with mamsa is taken and mardana
is done with dadhi. This lepa is applied on the arbuda sthana and
left for one day. Then there will be Krimi utpanna which eats up the
arbuda mamsa. The leftover mamsa should be cut using a shastra.
Arbudahara Yoga:
• Lepana of kadali bhasma, mocharasa, Tusha, shankha bhasma
mixed with kanji and takra.
65. चिककत्सासूत्र:
लङ्घनालेपनस्वेिरेिनैः रक्तसेिनैः।
प्रायः श्लेषमहरैरूष्णैः श्लीपिं समुपािरेत ्॥
In the disease shleepada langhana, alepana, swedana,
virechana, raktamokshana, shelshmaharana chikitsa like ushnopachara
should be done.
1. Vataja Shleepada:
• Snehana, Swedana, Upanaha.
• Siravyadha should be done 4 angula above the gulpha sandhi.
66. 2. Pittaja Shleepada:
• Siravyadha should be done below the gulpha sandhi.
• Pittaghna kriya should be followed.
• Treatment protocol of Pittaja arbuda and visarpa should be followed.
3. Kaphaja Shleepada:
• Siravyadha should be done 2 angula above the kshipra marama
present in the angushta.
• Paana of Mushkakaadi Gana kwatha along with madhu.
4. Sarva Shleepada Upachara:
• Sarshapa Taila paana.
• Putikaranja Swarasa paana.

MOP : Kashtoushadhi churna and guda are taken in a vessel and mixed to
form a homogenous mixture. To this madhu is added and modaka is done.
Indication – Shleepada.
2. Shleepadaari loha:
Ing – Triphala, Kantaloha bhasma, Shilajatu,Triphala kwatha.
MOP: Triphala kwatha is taken in a vessel and heated. To this shilajatu is
added and mixed well later to this mixture loha bhasma and triphala
churna is added and mixed until it attains the vati consistency.
Indication – Shleepada.
75. • As Bhaishajya Ratnavali is the gem of the medicinal formulae. The author has
explained various kalpanas in each disease like swarasa, churna, kwatha, lepa,
vati kalpana etc…..
• In all the prior explained chapters the Chikitsa krama like shodhana,
shamanoushadhis are explained, among which rasoushadhis are also given
equal importance.
• In all the above explained chapters even bahya kalpanas like lepa,
agnikarma etc are also given prime importance.
• At the end of each and every chapter pathya and apathya is explained.
• To conclude, it is a compendium of doctrines, disease, diagnosis, drugs and
diet apart from behavioural regimens attributed in different conditions.
