  1. LISA GHERDININI DE GOICONDA PAINTING BY LEONARDO DA VINCI MONALISA • • •
  2. DESCRIPTION OF MONALISA A woman's portrait, Monalisa Gioconda. She's sitting upright with the one hand above the other one. Monalisa is slightly smiling and her eyes are directed to the painter, making straightly looking at whoever will look at the portrait. She's wearing a black veil and a black dress. Behind Monalisa is a landscape of mountains and road paths. But Monalisa appear at the painting without eyebrows.
  3. ANALYSIS Leonardo Da Vinci made it hazy and slightly blurred effect of Monalisa painting. Coated in carefully blended colour and subtle gradations. The Monalisa is made up of approximately twenty light layers of paint, some are extremely thin. As a result of this work, the surface of the painting shows absolutely no trace of brush strokes. And due to the age of the portrait Monalisa’s eyebrows have faded over the centuries.
  4. Monalisa represent women's image as sophisticated yet classy and composed. It made us got into an idea that it shows how should the women would act and look like in the past. But the three-quarter view, in which Monalisa gaze follow the viewer and one side smile could also mean that despite being refrain because she's a woman, she shouldn't be underestimated. It shows like she have something in her mind, could pull off to prove herself and women shouldn't belittled. INTERPRETATIO N
  5. The Monalisa painting is very interesting. I like the colors, and Leonardo Da Vinci has done a good job of portraying the Monalisa in the painting. We also got amazed by the three- quarter view and the realism of this painting makes it special because it allows us to see inside the mind of the subject, Monalisa. However, there could be some improvements made to this painting. For example, Leonardo Da Vinci could have used more detail in her clothing or hair style. Another thing we noticed was that the hand above the other one is quite different and not in good position in the viewers perspective resulting to look like it's fractured. And the eyebrows, people believe that the eyebrows have faded over the centuries. The artist should have been more careful to face details. It would have given some depth to the entire piece and helped us see where we were looking at in relation to each other. • • • JUDGEMENT
