b) Write down some aspects you would like to comment on, including suggestions for
improvement.
• Instruction in L1. Why? I decided to explain them using the L1 because the head teacher use
it during the whole class, expect when she played a video or make an activity from the
book, so I realized that they weren’t following my instructions in spite of my mimic and
gestures.
• When playing Simon says, students kept on mentioning the parts of the face in L1. Was it
useful? Were they following the rules? No, it is not useful because it means that they did not
understand or could not use the second language. However, there are some students that
repeat the Simon Says using English. I recognize that it was really difficult that they follow
me, instructions and games, because they did not use to speak in English or play with.
• What classroom strategies were effective? You had to turn to Spanish to ask them to sit
down. In many cases were effective but not at all. They were a big noisy group, and there
were some students who
• They were quite talkative and noisy. Yes!
• Work on transitions. Was it clear for them what they were supposed to do before watching
the video? No, I realized it in the next classes and I tried to change it, explaining to students
what the video was about, making that they could imagine what they would watch on it.
• Nice song and materials! 
• How focused were students on the activities? Did you achieve an even participation? During
this activity some students participated, because there were a group that was noisy,
talkative and it was really hard make that they pay attention, so in many cases I stopped
the class several times, but I did not have some good results.
• You tried hard to use L2 throughout the lesson. 

Why? I decided to explain them using the L1 because the head teacher use it during the whole class, expect when she played a video or make an activity from the book, so I realized that they weren’t following my instructions in spite of my mimic and gestures. • When playing Simon says, students kept on mentioning the parts of the face in L1. Was it useful? Were they following the rules? No, it is not useful because it means that they did not understand or could not use the second language. However, there are some students that repeat the Simon Says using English. I recognize that it was really difficult that they follow me, instructions and games, because they did not use to speak in English or play with. • What classroom strategies were effective? You had to turn to Spanish to ask them to sit down. In many cases were effective but not at all. They were a big noisy group, and there were some students who • They were quite talkative and noisy. Yes! • Work on transitions. Was it clear for them what they were supposed to do before watching the video? No, I realized it in the next classes and I tried to change it, explaining to students what the video was about, making that they could imagine what they would watch on it. • Nice song and materials!  • How focused were students on the activities? Did you achieve an even participation? During this activity some students participated, because there were a group that was noisy, talkative and it was really hard make that they pay attention, so in many cases I stopped the class several times, but I did not have some good results. • You tried hard to use L2 throughout the lesson.  d) Rate this teacher’s performance on a scale of 1 – 10 (1 is very poor, 10 is outstanding) Circle the appropriate rating: 1- 2- 3- 4- 5- 6- 7- 8- 9- 10
