Personal Development
Linden came from Kampong
Cham province, Cambodia.
He finished university in
2014. When finished univer-
sity he came to volunteer in
VSO-ICS program that saw
in Bongthom website. When
already training many day in
Phnom Penh he was a select-
ed in the Ratanakiri team
that project title is
Ratanakiri Youth Engage-
ment and Participation Pro-
ject and name of the team is
VI185 Ratanakiri.The office,
we work with Yeak Laom
commune, Banlong city,
Ratanakiri province, that
stay on the national high-
way, near indigenous round-
about and next to Police
station. My host home in
Chri village have long 4-5
kilometres to my office and
everyday my counterpart and
I cycling 10-15 minute go to
work, we have most sweet
memory like to cycling claim
on many mountain
on the road and we
can saw the good
view.
About Chri village
stay near the Yeak
Laom lake maybe
one kilometre be-
hind of my house
we can walk there,
we also can have a
good looking the
local protecting
around the Yeak Laom lake
from the window of the
house. I have two counterpart.
Clair come from Leeds, Eng-
land. She have some of rings
on the nose, ear, tongue and
she like dancing. She can ate
everything like hot foods,
Khmer foods and indigenous
foods but hate Khmer cheese
or fish-paste. Anna come from
Stasford, England. She is good
looking and like Bayonce sing-
er like me too. She always fall
the bike cycle and don't like
spacy foods, also she don’t
like fish-paste.
Have many thing that

my skill (LAW), help
indigenous people,
training teaching Eng-
lish, work with commu-
nity, work in team,
improvement my Eng-
lish speaking, learn
most about indigenous
culture, have a lot of
new friends, know new
local, share experience
and knowledge with
others volunteers, build
the bridges and stairs of
the bridges, make me can
write the report in Eng-
lish and translate docu-
ment English to Khmer
like Survey question-
naire, M and E question

Before I have lot of
work for the money,
but now came and
work for the volun-
teer came to help

ferent. Since I start
the class in the univer-
sity I don’t have free
time for social work
and I a little of time
to help other people.
Until I finish universi-
ty and I looking for a
new job I saw ICS
program, they recruit
the volunteer go to
work in Ratanakiri
province. First time I
think how can I do
this work, can I share
the lesson in universi-
ty, can I work with
foreigner and how
about my language. I
don't know everything
and what I decide
about this because I
don’t have experience
about this before. In
the finally, I decided
to in join in the ICS
program. I think, it’s
better if I get most
new experience from
other place.

My Story
All Khmer and UK volunteers always have most of trip together like MPR committee, CAD com-
mittee we goes to Yeak Laom lake, Ka Chang water fall, Angkor Wat in Siem Reap province,
Cha Ung water fall, BBQ and go to the farm to help host home. And when we finished to work in
the lake I always swimming with my coworker when we finish the at the afternoon, but some of
Khmer volunteers they also can’t swim. We are always stay at the side of the lake, so cool!!!
