2. Existing Product
Its clear to see that this game is scary and
features demons of some kind. Although
my product features ghost in my game
and this does not, I can use Silent Hill as a
kind of inspiration for my product because
the environment in my game will be
similar to the one displayed.
The props are of those that you would
perhaps find in an old mansion which is a
good setting for a horror game as they are
known to be naturally creepy. The lighting
is dark to perhaps create a suspenseful
atmosphere and set the player up for
jump scares. In this scene it looks as
though the player is looking for an object
or is trying to escape their current
location which is the type of image I want
to create in my final product. This image
would maybe want people to buy the
game if they were particularly interested
in horror games and like things like
suspense and jump scares.
3. Existing Product
Clock Tower: The first fear has I similar
layout to what I want in my product as it
features a side scrolling, detective like
horror image with a complexion of
colours and various images that set an
eerie atmosphere.
The game looks as though it features
ghosts or demons of some time which is
similar to the objectives we were given
for our final product. This game would
make its audience want to buy it as it
looks like a game that’s perhaps full of
fun quests and creepy stories.
4. Existing Product
Alone in the Dark 3 has a quality to a standard
that looks as though I could closely recreate this
image using pixel art which is ideal as this game
too is set in an environment that is perfect for a
horror game that features ghosts. The difference
between this product and the that I am going to
create is that the camera angle is positioned to
get a 3D frame of the environment whilst mine
will be a 2D side scrolling horror.
The props used are objects that would appear in a
mansion with hidden doors and rooms which
gives the impression that this game maybe just as
much about escape as it is a detective looking
type game. This product will appeal to an
audience that enjoy small retro projects that have
an element off horror.
