29. Committed to sustainability
The events industry has a very significant environmental impact.
Its waste creation is particularly intensive (exhibition materials, posters, etc.).
From its birth in
2004, the CCIB has
always held that its
management should
involve all aspects of
social responsibility
and sustainability at
a fundamental level.
30. Selection of waste at source and relocation to an on-site temporary transfer
station
Placement of waste selection bins throughout the site
Energy Efficiency Policy
Event carbon footprint calculation to measure CO2 emissions for the clients
that hold an event at the centre
Today, all of this is a reality in the CCIB, as a result of its own policy of
responsibility, and therefore, of environmental sustainability:
Committed to sustainability
31. Accordingly, since 2009, the CCIB has been
committed to minimizing its 'carbon
footprint’: it compensates for the CO2
emissions resulting from the company’s activity
by purchasing carbon credits (CER) associated
with sustainable projects, endorsed by the
United Nations Framework Convention on
Climate Change (UNFCCC).
