Our (hi-)story
• Everybody, around the world, knows today the famous
Restaurant CHEZ LEON based in Brussels since 1893.
• But did you know that – in 1888 - the first restaurant that Mr
Leon VANLANCKER has created was « A la Ville d’Anvers » located
a few meters from the actual CHEZ LEON !
• A casual restaurant serving simple and authentic Belgian
cuisine ideally located near to the famous Grand-Place of
Brussels
• In October 2018, the Family VANLANCKER took over AUX
ARMES de BRUXELLES from his friend & competitor, the Family
VEULEMANS

More than 130 years ago, Leon
VANLANCKER opened a small
restaurant in Brussels. Over the
following decades, the Family
VANLANCKER grew the restaurant
into a Belgian recognized
establishment with more than 420
seats.
A family of true restaurateurs
dedicated to the Belgian cuisine for
more than 130 years of experience
now with Mr Kevin VANLANCKER
representing the 6th generation.

The LEON Beer –
brewed in
Belgium
• This Belgian high
fermentation beer is served
from the barrel and is 6.5%
ABV. It is brewed at Roeulx
in the premises at the St-
Feuillien brewery.
• This beer is unique because
it can only be tasted at Chez
Léon in the Rue des
Bouchers where it is served
in a large, round glass,
specially designed for it
