2. New organization on the field of
bioeconomy
• MTT Agrifood Research Finland will be part of the new
Natural Resources Institute Finland, starting the 1st of January
2015
• The other organizations forming the new institute through
merger are Finnish Forest Research Institute Metla, the
Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute RKTL and the
Information Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry

3. Building future for bioeconomy
• The new Natural Resources Institute Finland is established to
boost natural resources research which is fundamental for
building a future for bioeconomy.
• The more cohesive structure of the scientific community will
ensure the preservation and development of vital research
infrastructures and optimize the use of information,
monitoring data and statistics.
• The merger of the institutions will also lead to lower costs and
better productivity and that way increase customer value.
