About One World Middle School Located in the Bronx, NY, One World Middle School is committed to understanding ‘who’ the child is in order to teach them. They are dedicated to creating a respectful environment where diversity is celebrated and individuals learn and flourish by developing character, intellect, wellness and a desire for lifelong learning. At their school, they not only provide students with rigorous standard-based academics, but they also provide students with a place where learning is self-directed.

Business Case Challenge Through SuitUp, volunteers from Santander NY and students from One World Middle School participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they created a new and innovative product for Nike for a target audience of their choice. Volunteers coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a cash prize. Winning Team: Team 2: AIRBoard Team 1: Devise Team 2: AIRBoard Team 3: Justice Do It! Team 4: Black Lives Matter Shoes and Charm SuitUp to the Challenge

Santander NY Impact SuitUp asked students if Santander NY’s SuitUp competition made an impact on their future career choice. 100% of students said that engaging with the volunteers influenced their career choice and now they can see themselves using skills such as communication, teamwork and public speaking. Students are now interested in exploring the following fields: Business Administration / Entrepreneurship 53% Education 32% Graphic/Web Design 32% Fashion Design 16% Financial Services 11% Marketing 21% Media/Public Relations 26% STEM 16% Other 37%

  10. 10. Get Involved This board meets 4x a year and helps SuitUp implement its strategic plan to scale and serve more students. JOIN SUITUP’S CORPORATE BOARD VOLUNTEER AT FUTURE EVENTS Sign up for as many chapters as you’d like to keep an eye out for open volunteer competitions! MAKE AN INTRO TO ANOTHER COMPANY SuitUp is always seeking new corporate partners to host and sponsor SuitUp competitions. We work across the US and even the UK.
