Employment Contract 
◦ Is an agreement between people or organization to 
deliver goods or services , or to do something on jointly 
agreed terms.
Contract of Employment 
◦ The name of both employee and employer. 
◦ The title of the job 
◦ The agreed on salary 
◦ The hours of work 
◦ When payment would be paid 
◦ Holiday entitlement and holiday pay 
◦ Sick pay 
◦ The conditions of termination (length of notice that the employer must give)
What are employment legislations? 
◦They are set of law to prevent or allow the business to do 
certain acts regarding employees 
◦ It shapes the relationship between the employer and the 
employee. 
◦To protect the employees for being removed from their job 
unfairly.
Why ? 
◦To protect the employees in the workplace. 
◦To make sure the are treated fairly.
Discrimination 
◦To treat one person or group less favorably than others 
and dismiss employees based on:

What’s the difference between dismissal 
and redundancy ? 
◦ Dismissal is when the employees are removed from the job 
because of some misconduct (misbehavior ) 
◦Redundancy is when the job no longer exists, so the employee is 
no longer needed.
