The Soundweb London BLU Series DSP Processors and Output Expanders feature BLU-Link, a low latency,
fault tolerant digital audio bus transport protocol capable of 256 channels of audio over CAT 5e cable.
BLU-Link can travel up to a distance of 100 m between compatible devices.
Fiber optic media converters can be used to increase the distance between devices to over 40 km with fault
tolerance providing continual operation even if a device fails.
IDX paging stations include primary and secondary CobraNet®
based audio ports. Under normal operation,
the primary port only receives and transmits audio data from and to the network. Should the primary port or
connection fail, the device automatically switches to receive and transmit audio from and to the secondary port.
Soundweb London BLU Series DSP devices support many popular pro-audio transport formats including AVB,
BLU-Link, CobraNet, and Dante, assuring integration of IDX into existing infrastructure.

Scalable Audio and Logic Processing
Scalable audio ‘processing objects’ representing compressors, mixers, and EQs can be positioned and
connected as required within each DSP capable device. Since the DSP configuration process does not
require hardware, even the largest system can be conveniently designed using a laptop computer.
Each processing object has a ‘default control panel’ which contains all of the controls for a given processor, and
offers real-time control of parameters when online with a configured system. When used in conjunction with
external control and input from the audio domain, Soundweb London’s logic processing capability opens the door
to comprehensive automation and system integration.

Learning a Programming Language
The IDX 200 software allows you to build touch
screen interfaces for the 720 series microphone
stations through a wizard. Choose the pre-configured
templates you need for the application and the
software populates the design code for you.
Upload Audio Files
and Assemble Custom Messages
Build custom messages from pre-recorded audio files
by uploading them to the server and drag-and-drop
the files into the desired order. All custom messages
can be executed by custom timelines or schedules, by
priority, or in pre-determined sequences.
Monitor and Report System Activity
IDX records all activity on the system. Paging station

Open Architecture Software for Digital Signal Processing
The IDX 200 software allows easy configuration, control, and administration
of the system. Stored on a central server, the software gives you the ability
to maintain and broadcast messages throughout a facility in addition to
monitoring, reporting, and diagnosing system issues from a remote desktop.
Scalable systems need freedom to grow. London Architect provides
the power to make system changes depending on current needs
HiQnet®
London Architect is the configuration software for the Soundweb London family of products. The
open architecture of Soundweb London is configured using a simple drag-and-drop approach. IDX 200 system
devices such as the BLU-800, BLU-BOB, Crown CT16S, or 700 series paging stations can be positioned and
organized logically as objects to represent connectivity, rack locations and the racks themselves.

Ambient microphones can be installed in ceilings or walls to be used for security purposes such as
monitoring activity in the event of an emergency. Single microphones may be assigned to one or more
zones and multiple microphones can be used simultaneously.
In a busy facility, the overall ambient noise will rise and fall based on level of activity.
During a high traffic event, the noise level can become very loud, making it difficult
to understand speech announcements or hear background music. Ambient Noise
Compensation, or ANC, monitors the room with a microphone and adjusts the speaker
volume dynamically to ensure proper balance of audio signal at all times.

Optional Redundancy Features
The IDX 200 system will run 24/7/365 with the addition of automatic
backup systems for power, data, amplification, and digital audio
signal transport, providing the confidence and trust that is at
the core of all HARMAN Professional systems.
The ambient microphone senses high room noise, automatically
boosting the speaker volume to a level more appropriate for a
busy environment.
The ambient microphone mounted on the column senses low
room noise, automatically adjusting the speaker volume down
to a comfortable level.
Digital Audio Signal Redundancy
Audio signal redundancy comes standard with all IDX 200
hardware via BLU-Link, Soundweb London’s Digital Audio Bus.
BLU-Link’s bi-directional flow is fault-tolerant because it is set
up in a ring. If part of the ring fails, the signal will intelligently
‘turn around’ and self-correct to all devices in the ring until
connections are re-established.
Amplification Redundancy
A BLU-LINK Ring
IDX 200 leverages the power of Crown DriveCore
Install Networked amplifiers and the CT16S
Amplifier switcher to create robust automatic failover
amplification networks. In addition to meeting
redundancy requirements, multiple Crown amplifiers
ensure high quality audio throughout a system.
When the amplifier failover option is installed,
IDX 200 software will run a test every minute
using a test tone to detect audio down a channel.
If no audio is detected, the switcher will deploy
an available redundant channel. IDX 200 allows
system failover in an 8:1 or 1:1 channel capability.
Power Supply and Data Redundancy
IDX 200 Servers have the option to be ordered with redundant power supplies.
If one power supply fails, the secondary supply automatically takes over.
Redundant hard drives can also be installed in a RAID configuration, which will
mirror a backup of the IDX system, automatically reverting to the backup in the
event of hard drive failure.
For ultimate safety, multiple IDX 200 servers can be installed in the system as
complete backups. If the main IDX 200 server were to ever fail for any reason,
the redundant server would take over uninterrupted.
