Northern Health Authority (Kitimat General Hospital) October 01/11 to Present
Permanent part time position at Kitimat General Hospital as Medical Laboratory Assistant.
When Eurocan Pulp & Paper closed I had the opportunity to pursue something different. I
completed the Medical Lab Assistant Certificate program at Thompson Rivers University.
I draw blood and perform ECG’s. This includes computer work and sample send-outs.
Including inventory control, ordering on e-Rex and other forms of purchasing. Use the Kanban
method of inventory control. Patient care includes: out-patients, patients on the ward,
emergency patients and multi-level patients in long-term care.
Confidentiality, diplomacy, and accuracy are paramount.

Working from home, I am a private contractor for insurance collection samples and
information. This requires arranging to meet for the following: collect blood samples, urine
samples, take their vitals, preform ECG’s, and complete Paramedicals with the applicants.
Forward the information to the company both electronically and in hard copies. Also forward
samples to labs. All done with a very time sensitive urgency.
MJ’s Ladies Gym Inc. (Kitimat, BC) Dec. 2008 to Sept. 2014
Sold the gym September 2014. This was my hobby. I incorporated the gym myself in Oct.
2008. I did the accounting, payroll, programs, etc. - everything to do with running the gym.
I hired the staff, paid the staff, issued T4’s and Record of Employment and paid the Work Safe
BC. Filed GST and HST every 3 months.
Only accounting I did not do for the gym was the annual corporate tax filing.
Magnum Road Builders Nov. 01/11 to March 04/13
Safety Coordinator. Completed incident/accident investigations. Maintain safety info for
Magnum’s ISNetworld account. Trainer/Instructor for WHMIS and safety indoctrinations.
Prepared the safety manuals. Conducted safety site inspections. Revised and updated, as
required, Magnum’s Health & Safety Program.
Jan. 30/13 obtained my qualification as a COR Internal Auditor from BC Construction Safety
Alliance (BCCSA).
2. Magnum Road Builders and Oviatt Construction Spring/Summer of 2010
Employed by Magnum Road Builders Inc. (May to Aug) then J. Oviatt Construction (Aug to
Sept), both sub-contractors for Bechtel Canada Inc. for contract work on the Rio Tinto
modernization work site.
Responsible for submitting to Bechtel, for Magnum and Oviatt: Daily Reports, Monthly
Reports, Change Requests, and manage Weekly Quantities and Man Hour Reports. Worked
from the on-site trailers.
Eurocan Plup & Paper - 1992 to Mill Closure in January 2010
Production Scheduler, Load Planner, and Shipping Coordinator (2003 to closure)
Position included: scheduled the orders on the two paper machines, load planning vessels,
barges, rail cars and trucks.
