Turning Simple Disciplines Into Massive Success
The Slight Edge is really a philosophy on life that talks about
how the little choices we make that may seem insignificant on
a daily basis are actually the key to living a life full of success,
optimized health and amazing relationships.
Success in every area of life is all about making the RIGHT
choice, making it consistently day in and day out.. until you
reach the desired outcome. It’s about making the right choice
when no-one is around, with complete integrity.
Our life is a direct reflection of our best thinking, and if we don’t
like what we see then we need to take a closer look at those small
daily decisions and make some adjustments. The Slight Edge is
either working for you or against you. there is no standing still.
#1. Show Up
No matter what show up every single day. You can beat out 50%
of the competition just by showing up in your business or in the
gym or eating healthy every single day. Easy to do… but also easy
not to do.

And the remaining 20% of success is based on your
knowledge, skill and execution.
#2. Be Consistent
Goes hand in hand with number 1. Don’t worry about the numbers,
just strive for consistency and the numbers will be there in the
end. You don’t have to be better, smarter, genetically gifted just be
consistent and you will yield great results.
If you are consistent with the boring and monotonous you will succeed. The fact is most
people will not stick with the difficult and thus never succeed.
You are either on a success curve or a failure curve. The problem is that
most people don‟t really completely realize which one they are on until a
lot of time has passed. That‟s because we all make a lot of small decisions
everyday that don‟t have immediately noticeable results or effects.
#3. Have a Good Attitude
Best way to inoculate yourself from this is to have a mastermind group and plug
into positivity ON PURPOSE, you need to seek it out. When we are Positive our
brains actually function better, make us more alert, engaged, free to create and
lead to better productivity. Science proves that attitude is critical to success.

#4. Be committed For a Long Period of Time
I tell people that if you want to work with my team and I you must commit
for at least 1 year without distraction. Why? People want instant results but
true success takes time, success takes the compound effect which kicks in
after you repeat the same action over and over and over again.
How to do it is not the issue. If “how to do it” were the answer,
it’d be done. It’s how you do the “how’s” that’s most important.
it is not what they are doing that is wrong. IT’S THAT THEY
DON’T KEEP DOING THOSE THINGS LONG ENOUGH.
Success is more like a marathon than a sprint. You
must have self-discipline, persistence and be willing
to do what most will not do.
#5. Have Faith and a Burning Desire
Everyone will be presented with problems and obstacles
along their journey. This is what keeps you motivated to
press forward when adversity hits.
There is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose,
the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it ~ Napoleon Hill
You can determine the size of a person by the size
of the problem that keeps them down. Successful
people look at a problem and see opportunity.
#6. Be Willing to Pay the Price
The Price of neglect is far worse than the price of commitment. The slight edge difference is simply
„what‟s comfortable early becomes uncomfortable later‟ and „what‟s uncomfortable early becomes
comfortable later.‟ Think about that for a minute.. Be willing to get uncomfortable now.. or you will
pay the ultimate price of neglect and be very uncomfortable later in life.
“It seems most people live with one foot in the past, saying „Only if things
had been different, I would be successful.‟ And the other foot in the future,
saying „When this or that happens I will be happy/successful.‟ And they
completely ignore the present, which is all we really have.”
#7. Practice Slight Edge Integrity
Slight Edge integrity is all about what you do when No One is watching.
It is also doing the thing you said you were going to do long after the
mood you said it in has left you. This can be difficult but it really is the
crux of Integrity.
“You can’t change where you are overnight, but you CAN change
your direction to where you are headed overnight.” That really
sums it up. You just must know which direction to turn to and to
stay heading towards.- Jim Rohn
