1. Proposal
Synopsis.
For my filmproposal I want to make a film this film is going to be a psychological thriller and
I have heavily influenced it to Martin Scorsese’s King of comedy as it’s a filmwith all lot of
depth and it has a good story.
Logline.
Comedian who has a failing career and he struggles with his sanity his therapist tries to help
him out a great deal but is failing to get him to think positively and to focus on his health
Screenplay Structure
Act 1 Will be my start introducing my characters and the setting this will be set in a theatre
while he’s performing this will be my 1st minute of the film
Act 2 The main conflict this where my character gets violent and he refuses help where he is
certain he will make fame no matter what. This will be around 2 mins 30
Act 3 The climax of the movie my character gets worse and he disappears this is the last 1
minute 30 of the film
Characters. I will have a character similar to Robert Pupkin in the king of comedy a person
who
has trouble coping with his sanity and he is obsessed with success and fame my main
character I have two ideas for names Wilfred Rack and Everett Gladstone I like these names
as they sound mysterious and intriguing for a main character the beginning of my film will
be my main characters in a bathroom preparing for his show and he ends up breaking down
in rage but he lets the ambition take over and the madness takes control as well it will be a
psychological thriller because I’m going to try and include scenes in that will mess with the
viewers head which is where the mystery element comes in. My second character Zoe Nash
or Jade Milton she will be the main characters therapist she is the woman that’s very caring
and supportive she tries to get the main characters life back on track and she tries to
support him as much as possible however he is more interested in being a famous than his
well being.
2. I will include many shots like close ups and mid shots these are to capture important scenes
and to tell my story in a sufficient thrilling way I think for these shots I have made the right
ones
Film Treatment.
Everett Gladstone (Early 20s) an ambitious comedian also a sociopath he believes he is
destined to catch his big break on the stage and become a famous worldwide comedian he
has always wanted to be famous on the stage since he was young he moved away from
home when he was 17 and lives in a small 1-bedroom flat by himself
His troubles then drastically worsened since he has been rejected from a show he was
supposed to be performing at. He begins to get angrier and frustrated each day with the
fact that he can’t manage to impress anyone in the comedy business.
Target audience
My target audience will be people aged 15-30 this because the story is aimed towards
people in that age category and it has some scenes that could be classed as distressing to
some people so that why I believe that my film is for a more mature audience. I do this by
making sure that my film includes the right things that other films aimed for that target
audience include. The demographics for my film is that its aimed towards teenagers to
young men. My film isn’t aimed at any gender I’m making a film fit for both male and
female.
