2. EDITORIAL MISSION
O
n the back of steady domestic and
global demand, revenues from the GCC
petrochemical industry have reached almost
$88bn, with Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the
lead. To build on this success, governments
across the region are investing heavily in projects at home
and abroad. Saudi Arabia alone has earmarked over
$90bn for the development of its petrochemical industry,
while Qatar is forging ahead with its $25bn decade of
petrochemicals. With the Sadara complex coming online
and plans to raise refining capacity by over 830,000 barrels
per day by 2020, the region is set to become the number
one international products hub, attracting business and
investment from all parts the globe.
Refining & Petrochemicals Middle East is the only
dedicated publication to the downstream industry in the
GCC. In a very short period of time, it has emerged as
the authoritative voice in the industry, respected for its
independent views and market expertise.
The publication is designed to arm its readers with the
in-depth knowledge required to run their businesses more
effectively, increase revenues, improve productivity and
optimise performance. Every month, the title covers refinery
and plant management, innovations in refining processes
and techniques, product development, technology and key
suppliers to the industry. Through interviews with CEOs and
key decision makers, it strives to provide exclusive insight
into some of the industry’s most pressing issues.
