3. Newcastle Disease is one of the most important
infectious disease of poultry in Bangladesh
It is still considered a major problem, because
of its high morbidity, mortality particularly in
rural areas and reduce productivity and
economic loss in layer farm
Velogenic Strain Cause Mortality up to 90%
and Morbidity near 100%
Prevalence of ND in different areas of
Bangladesh are 50%, 45%, 25% and 32.5%.
BACKGROUND
4. Determination of seroprevalence of Newcastle
Disease (ND) by Hamagglutination Inhibition (HI)
test
Evaluation of immune response of different
commercial vaccines in grower and layer birds.
OBJECTIVES
6. Study area:
The study was carried out at different layer
farms of three upazilla namely- Kaharol,
Bochagonj and Setabgonj in Dinajpur district
Total Number of Sample:
20 blood samples from each farm
Study period:
January-June,, 2015

20. CONCLUSIONS
Detection of seroprevalance of ND in layer birds may
assist to reduced prevalence of ND in layer farm through
proper vaccination.
The titre level in farm C (Avinew VG/GA strain), A
(Mesogenic strain) and D (Cevacnew-Lasopa) on Day7 and
Day14 was 27.2
,28
; 27.6
, 28.1
and 29.1
, 29.8
, respectively in
three farms
Cevac New L (LaSota strain) may be the choice of vaccine
against ND for layer farms though others may also be
used.
Further study may need to conduct in large scale of birds
using all commercial vaccine for recommendation.
