2. What is Door & Window ?
• Door : A door may be defined as an openable barrier which provide
in a wall opening to give access to inter into a building and security to
the residents .
• Window : A window is a vented barrier which function is to admit
light and air to the building and to give a view to outside and provide
insulation against heat and sound.

3. Necessity of Door and Window
• To Ensure Privacy and Security of Building.
• Enrich Aesthetic Beauty Of Structure.
• To Connect The Internal Portion Of Building.
• To Control Environmental Animosity.
• Ensure Availability of Adequate Sun lite And Fresh Air.
• Provide Accessibility to Inter and Out For The Residents.

4. General specification For Door And Window Size
Specification of door-
*Door should have enough space that two man can easily inter from it.
*Height of door is not less than 1.8m to 2m.
Relation between height and breadth-
*Breadth = (.4to.60)* Height of door
*Height = (Breadth + 1.2)m

*Condition of climate
*Direction of wind
Specification for window size-
Breadth = 18(width + height of room)
Area = (10% to 20% of floor area)
10 square meter window is needed for 30cum to 40 cum room volume
